Dueling Spells
Dueling Spells Lesson 1

The Disarming Spell (Expelliarmus), where your opponent's wand flies across to you and sends your opponent into a wall.

The Leg-Locker Curse (Locomotor Mortis).

Full Body-Bind Spell (Petrificus Totalus).

Finite Incantatum, a spell designed to cancel-out all other spells/curses/hexes/charms.

Remember that when pronouncing Expelliarmus, you must put pressure on the "Ex", "Pel-li" must be said quickly, and in "Armus", the letter "A" should be held longer than the other letters. If length is applied to "Pel", then Expelliarmus will backfire on you, sending your wand over to your opponent, and sending you into a wall. If pressure is added to "Mus", then you will need to head to the Hospital Wing to have purple hair removed (the only way to remove it is for it to be torn out).

While performing Locomotor Mortis, you must think of nothing but the curse for it to be effective. To successfully complete Petrificus Totalus, you must think the most hateful things you can about the person you are performing the spell against.

When beginning a duel, always remember the three steps:

1) Bow to your opponent
2) Take five steps away from your opponent
3) Turn, and move into a fencing-like position, with your wand at the ready. On the count of three, begin the duel with your spells.

A Death Eater is a follower of You-Know-Who, which is different from a dementor. Many confused these two things.

Dueling Spells:

Expelliarmus - Disarming
Locomotor Mortis - Leg-Locker Curse
Petrificus Totalus - Full Body-Bind Curse
Finite Incantatem - Cancels all minor spells

Dueling Spells Lesson 2

The incantation for the water spell is "Suisei"

The fire spell's incantation is "Kasei"

The incantation for the lightning spell is "Monusei"

You will notice that the similarity between all
these spells is that their incantations all end in "sei".

The water spell, "Suisei", creates a sharp, powerful burst of water come from your wand and hit its target with intense impact. Be careful, because the impact could cause the breaking of bones.

The lethal fire spell, "Kasei", does the same thing, except it is a burst of fire. However, this spell is much more dangerous, because you could easily kill someone
with it.

The lightning spell, "Monusei", is controlled by the power in your voice when you say the incantation. This makes it better than the other spells in this lesson. When said loudy, this incantation can destroy something in one quick flash. When said in a whisper, this is a good spell for getting someone's attention with a jolt.

Dueling Spells:

Expelliarmus - Disarming
Locomotor Mortis - Leg-Locker Curse
Petrificus Totalus - Full Body-Bind Curse
Finite Incantatem - Cancels all minor spells
Kasei - Burst of Fire
Suisei - Burst of Water
Mokusei - Lightning

Dueling Spells Lesson 3

The Silencing Charm. This is an effective way of disabling your opponent of using an incantation, because they will be mute. The proper incantation for the Silencing Charm is "Silencium". It sounds like "Sy-len-see-um". Make sure to practice that when you get the
chance.

The next spell is "Relashio", a form of attack spell. This spell releases hot jets of sparks from the tip of your wand, and can go badly wrong if the spell has not been mastered by the user. This is effective, but you must aim very well to hit your opponent.

The final spell youll be learning today is the Stunning Spell, "Stupefy". This will knock your opponent out, rendering him or her virtually helpless. This is also a very powerful spell, and must be handled with care. This spell also needs careful aim, and lots of practice. Concentration is very important, because without total
concentration and perfectly flowing wand movements, this spell could backfire on you, seriously injuring you.

Now, about seconds. In a wizard duel, there are always two people dueling each other, one-on-one. However, each side brings along a second dueler incase the first dueler is for some reason rendered unable to continue.
Basically, a second is a back-up. If the seconds first dueler is for example stunned by Stupefy, then the second steps in and continues the duel. The first side to defeat both of their opponents duelers wins.

Expelliarmus - Disarming
Locomotor Mortis - Leg-Locker Curse
Petrificus Totalus - Full Body-Bind Curse
Finite Incantatem - Cancels all minor spells
Kasei - Burst of Fire
Suisei - Burst of Water
