Arc the Lad

Arc the Lad 2

Arc the Lad 3

Breath of Fire 3: The third tale of Ryu and his draconic history. This is the first of the series which you can customize what abilities you want Ryu to bring out. All the other characters have their special abilities and can learn more from trainers. Fishing is extremely fun and profitable. Parts of the game can drag on with having to go back and forth without speedy transportation.

Breath of Fire 4

Chrono Cross

Civilization 2 (Americans): A fun game if you are into the civilization series. Takes patience, no doubt. Pummeling the enemy with missles from railroad tracks near the end of the game is a lot of fun.

Crash Bandicoot: The Super Mario Bros. of the Playstation. It was one of the first games to come out for the PS, and one of the most popular.

Crusaders of Might and Magic: Easy, bad gameplay, and boring. A shame to the Might and Magic series.

Final Fantasy 7: The tale of Cloud. This game caused the FF boom in both Japan and the US. There is no question that it is one of the best FF's out there. So good that is has a Prequel (Japan only) about the Turks, a movie (Advent Children), a game centered around Vincent (Dirge of Cerberus), among other things, all to itself. A collection that no other FF has. Cloud also makes appearances in FF Tactics and Kindom Hearts. The materia system is top rate, and thus far has not been beaten (although the FF6 magicite system is very similar). The pain of Aries's death can be felt all the way to the ending. After much deliberation, as well as playing the game a few more times, I have come to see that Aries is the main char (being the first and the last seen) and that Jenova is the enemy. The others are just puppets.

Final Fantasy 8: The story about Squall. At first I didn't like the game with the draw system, and it seemed as though the game lacked a story. However, after having quit playing and then going back to beat it, it has nearly the same storyline as FF7. I have not decided who I think the main character really is (Squall, Rinoa, or Laguna) but the game has a great ending that was awesome for the story. I'm still sketchy on the entire plot, but I guess if all loose ends were tied I wouldn't have much reason to look back on the game. A very nice game, but may taking getting used to.

Final Fantasy 9: I said it was childish at first. I take that back. The battle and growth system in this game (learning stuff from items) is really enjoyable and makes for easy skill management (also makes the cool items in the game more desireable). Zidane is one of my favorites, as is Vivi (though I'm confused as to how he had kids at the end). The tale is your normal "princess in despair" for the first... oh... five minutes. Until you realize she is trying to run away harder than Zidane is trying to capture her. Like most FFs they end up in space somehow. In this case it's Zidane's home and Square comes up with a perfectly good reason to move the story to space (along with good plot). You'll get addicted to the characters in this game, which is a shame cause it is the shortest play so far. The card game is fun, but comes with few rewards. And damn those Yan's...

Final Fantasy Anthology - FF5

Final Fantasy Anthology - FF6

Final Fantasy Chronicles - FF4: The tale of Cecil. First came out as FF2 on SNES, but don't be fooled FF2 is actually a different game. This was one of the first FF games to really succeed. If you are the type to apply yourself to a game, this one will draw you in. As with most of the FF's to come, the main hero seems to have some darkness tugging at him to screw up his mind.

Final Fantasy Chronicles - Chrono Trigger

Final Fantasy Origins - FF1

Final Fantasy Origins - FF2

Final Fantasy Tactics (All Characters): The tale of Ramza. It may seem like your ordinary square block tactics game, but it goes by faster than the rest and really drag you in with the storyline and the options you have. The game gets pretty easy after you get Thundergod Cid... perhaps he is overpowered (you didn't hear me say that). Cloud and Aries make a guest appearance late in the game.

Grand Theft Auto 2: The best of the GTA games for Playstation. It's not 3D or anything like the PS2 ones, but it has a great replay value. A person can just drive around, running over people, and get tailed by cops for hours. The usual GTA things.

Grandia

Jade Cocoon

Kartia

Legacy of Kain Soul Reaver

Legend of Dragoon

Legend of Legaia

Legend of Mana

Lunar Silver Star Story Complete: A lengthy RPG about Alex and Luna. A very in depth storyline really had me feeling sad at the end of the game. I went into the final dungeon too far before I realized I couldn't turn back, so keep an ear out for hints of it. This has a close link to the Lufia games where the "girl you think will end up marrying the hero" has a twisted turn of fate at the end of the game.

Lunar 2 Eternal Blue Complete

Mega Man X4 (Mega Man X, Zero): My favorite X game because you can play as Zero. Definatly one of the first Mega Man games to allow some versitality.

Metal Gear Solid (3 Different Endings): Many people think this is the first of the Metal Gear series, which is not true. Metal Gear started in a very low detailed setting on the NES where Snake is the main character.Playing through the game for the alternate endings and special items was very rewarding. I would really say I would have to go with the ending with the chick. It just seems better that way. Escaping with the nerdy dude just... didn't feel right. Besides, fewer people die when you save the girl.

Parasite Eve

Saga Frontier

Suikoden (108 Characters): I know what you're thinking... 108 characters!?!? It's not that bad, in fact it can be rather refreshing to have such a vast army at your disposal. It isn't a poor system like Pokemon where you can only use one at a time or two at a time, parties consist of six and leveling them up make your overall army stronger, so level everyone up. It is really easy if you take one or two strong people, the rest of them weak, and then go fight something strong. Great replay value as long as you don't play it back to back.

Suikoden 2

Syphon Filter: Your typical spy game, only easier and shorter. It does have good replay value.

Tactics Ogre

Tales of Destiny

Tales of Destiny 2

Tales of Eternia

Vagrant Story (Once): The tale of Ashley Riot. The game has great graphics, and a new battle system that I really like... however the "Risk" factor can put you in pit that can be a pain to get out of. Learn how to play faster than I did or spend thirty minutes on a single boss fight. As you dig deeper into Ashley's past the hero becomes less of a hero and the villian becomes less of a villan. Sydney only tries to help Ashley see the truth and only then can he be judgemental. At the end of the game Ashley dresses like the marvel hero "The Punisher"... or the Matrix. Either way it can be taken as he has finally chosen the path of justice and has taken Sydney's place since his death.

Vandal Hearts: One of the first tactic games for PS. And believe me, it requires a lot of tact. Not that the game is hard, but the only battles you can take part in are storyline based. Meaning there are no random battles to level up, find money, find items, or even out the party's levels. Good story line, but like I said, very linear.

Wild Arms: First off, the intro movie and music I played over and over. I have that song on a midi and still listen to it. The game has an awesome story and a classic battle system.
