Inspiration: Tony Adams Goals: 3 legendary ones
It is hard to think of a more total footballer than Daniel- total commitment, total energy, and total lack of control. Famed for his ability to ride through one physical challenge after another and retain possession at whatever the cost, it is a joy to watch Dan thrusting through the middle of the park pushing the ball just a little too far every time. A versatile player, he is at home anywhere in the back four, providing it isn't on the left. He is a perfect compliment to any defence, particuarly one containing Ed 'glory boy' Fenn-Smith and 'Grandad' Inglis. In his glorious career he has scored a sackload of stunning goals, well, a small sack. Rather cruelly his forays into the area have been likened to being, 'lost at sea' and 'a fish out of water'. His deft scoring touches have been labelled clearances into the oppositions net. However he is confident that if the stoic management were to push him up from the scoresheet would often be illuminated with the word and number, 'Garrod 3'. A keen marathon runner (although that is not neccessarily obvious on the pitch) Dan is still self deprecating about his fitness saying he is terrified that his end of season report will not comment generously on his fitness. Having been kicked in the eye just as he was about to go on a scoring spree, his season has been dogged by injury. However, it would be myopic to write this player off for surely a glittering international career is waiting in the wings. |
