What can you say about this man which has not already been written? 'The strength of Sol Campbell', 'the speed of Martin Keown', 'the poise of Jaap Staam. These are just a few hyperbolas credited to one Ed Fenn-Smith. One of the founders of, 'Leopards F.C', Ed has spent the majority of his early twenties serving the Leopards, even to the detriment of his private life. Ed began his, 'Big Cat' life in the holding role of midfield, formerly known as the 'Paul Ince role', now, 'Ed Fenn-Smith role'. However after one season excelling in this role, Ed listened to the cries of his fellow players and unselfishly went back to help out the back four. What better way to incoporate the inadequate playing skills of Charles Stevenson than to have a man-mountain sweep up behind him? His strengths-unending. Although he is noted for his fleet of foot, his main attribute is his heading. It is a great comfort to fellow Leopards to hear, with the ball swirling in the air that famous battle cry, 'Ed's Ball!!'. There is always going to be one outcome... His Weaknesses-modesty Although now at the twighlight of his career, he takes great comfort at Patrick Inglis still playing at an age the late great Stanley Matthews would have been proud of. Maybe there is life in the old dog yet |
