We had a wonderful trip to Italy/Greece on September 2000.

What you see behind my back is a view of Rom from the top of the steps of Palazzo Veneccia.

Look at this placid street.

-----------------

Rita stayed still for just a brief moment of taking a picture of a Rom street.

Rita and Julia are marching through a Rom street.

Rita and Julia are bringing a souvenir home.

It's been a long day... No one has anymore energy left to turn their faces in front of the camera. So, enjoy the view of a typical Rom street.

Well known Rom Forums were the places where people of ancient Rom met together to share news and exchange marketplace.

During the dark ages most of them were disassembled to reuse material for building Vatican and basilicas.

Believe it or not, but after thousands of years there is a short portion of the original basalt pavement on the way to the Coliseum.

Interesting note about the Coliseum. Where do you think all the marble from it went? The answer is - it was re-used for building

St. Peter Basilica in Vatican. The amazing part about it is that there are great resources of natural marble around the Rom.

This is the arch of Constantine.

Another attraction of Rom is so called Spanish steps:

Next picture is the Vatican, Basilica of San Peter.

One of the rest areas (looks relaxing, doesn't it?)

Watch out for hungry tourists. When you got to have an apple, you got to have it:)

Santa Maria del Flore is one of world's largest castles yet most beautiful.

Look at this magnificent view of Arno river bank in Florence.

Ponte Vecchio bridge - where the world finest and, yes, most expensive jewelry is sold!

Me and Rita at Uffizi Gallery, Florence (In the background the mythic Nioba trying to save her last daughter from killing)

Well, this is not the end of the story, this is the end of another day in Florence.

It's been a long day....

Let's now ride chu-chu train to see one of the world's wonders - Pisa tower.

When the first couple of stories were built tower had begun to incline.

But it has been decided to finish its erection. So, after towers has been built completely

It has began to fall. Lots of efforts has been made to stop the tower from falling, but it still does.

While we were there we also contributed what we could to the process of stopping towers to fall (see picture bellow)

As an alternative you can adjust your own position to match the tower inclination:)

Venice is the most beautiful city in the world. While it's sinking it attracts more and more tourists from all over the world.

It is the only (civilized) city that doesn't have conventional transportation system (cars, buses, motorcycles).

What id does have is all kinds of water transportation - from legendary gondolas to usual taxi boats.

There is only one major piazza - Piazza San Marko. Whatever street you would walk on it will end on this Piazza.

The biggest attraction in the piazza is to feed doves. You can see me with bunch of doves, although I didn't feed them.

Waiting line to Basilica San Marko.

Gondola ride is romantic enough (as well as expensive) even without a singer.

I understand you wanted to spend more time seeking Italy. so did I. But, I'm going to lead you to another attraction now.

Let's take a boat and cruise to Greece!!!
