LEONIS PRIDE
WILD
BIRDS
We hung a laundrey line outside our kitchen window which stretches between two pine tree ,which we hang a variety of different kinds of bird feeders. Here are the feeders & things we do for our wild bird friends:

1. We provide water in a bowl or pan. We put rocks or stick or both so the birds can reach the water.

2.
We collect pinecones & spread peanut butter on them & roll them in birdseed.

3. We put just Thisle seed in some of the feeders just for the finches.

4.We fill the others with wild bird food & different nuts & seeds.

5.
We scatter some birdseed around the ground.

6. We make wooden bird houses and hang them on the pine trees. A Bluebird family & a Swallow family has moved into two of our houses. We are now impatientely awaiting the cheery chirp of the babies.

SO FAR WE HAVE:

BLACK BIRDS
CHICKEEDEES

EXCITING MOMENTS IN BIRDWATCHING
In February we were gazing out the window at the lovely birds, just like we do at different times throughout the day when a Robin surprised us by swooping down & slurping up a big fat earthworm.

When you give it to them,
they gather it up;
when you open your hand,
they are satisfied with good things.
