Advice

Seek good and not evil,
That you may live;
So the LORD God of hosts will be with you,
As you have spoken.
Amos 5:14

"Abide in me, and I in you.
As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine,
neither can you,
unless you abide in me."

Serious Stuff

Unto you I lift up my eyes,
O you who dwell in the heavens.
Behold, as the eyes of servants
look to the hands of their masters,
As the eyes of a maid to the
hand of her mistress,
So our eyes look to the LORD our God,
Until he has mercy on us.

Have mercy on us, O LORD,
have mercy on us!
For we are exceedingly filled with contempt.
Our soul is exceedingly filled
With the scorn of those who are at ease,
With the contempt of the proud.
Psalm 123

Then one of the elders answered,
saying to me, "Who are these arrayed in white robes,
and where did they come from?"

And I said to him, "Sir, you know."
So he said to me, "These are the ones
who come out of the great tribulation,
and washed their robes and made them white
in the blood of the lamb.
Revelation 7:13-14

And there are also many other things that Jesus did,
which if they were written one by one,
I suppose that even the world itself
could not contain the books
that would be written.
Amen.
John 21:25

Humour

The Gileadites seized the fords of the Jordan before the Ephraimites arrived.
And when any Ephraimite who escaped said, "Let me cross over," the men of Gilead would say to him, "Are you an Ephraimite?"
If he said, "no," then they would say to him, "Then say, 'Shibboleth'!"
And he would say, "Sibboleth," for he could not pronounce it right.
Then they would take him and kill him at the fords of the Jordan.
There fell at that time forty-two thousand Ephraimites.
Judges 12:5-6

So Zebah and Zalmunna said,
"Rise yourself, and kill us;

Judges 8:21

And he (Elisha) went up from there to Bethel;
and as he was going up the road,
some youths came up from the city and mocked him,
and said to him, "Go up, you baldhead! Go up, you baldhead!"
So he turned around and looked at them,
and pronounced a curse on them in the name of the LORD.
And two female bears came out of the woods and mauled forty-two of the youths.

Zechariah 12:1

Humour

And David and his men went up and raided
the Geshurites, the Girzites, and the Amalekites.
For those nations were the inhabitants of the land from of old,
as you go to Shur, even as far as the land of Egypt.

Then Achish (King of Gath) would say, "Where have you made a raid today?"
And David would say, "Against the southern area of Judah,
or against the southern area of the Jerahmeelites,
or against the southern area of the Kenites."

   So Achish believed David, saying,
"He has made his people Israel utterly abhor him;
therefore he will be my servant for ever."

Now it happened in those days that the Philistines gathered
their armies together for war, to fight with Israel.
And Achish said to David, "You assuredly know that you will go out with me to battle, you and your men."

And David said to Achish, "Surely you know what your servant can do."
And Achish said to David, "Therefore I will make you one of my chief guardians for ever."

And Abraham stretched out his hand and took the knife to slay his son.
But the Angel of the LORD called to him from heaven

for now I know that you fear God, since you have not withheld your son,
your only son, from me."
And Abraham called the name of the place, The-LORD-Will-Provide;
as it is said to this day, "In the Mount of The LORD it shall be provided."

Advice

Let this mind be in you which was
also in Christ Jesus,
who, being in the form of God, did
not consider it robbery to be
equal with God,
but made himself of no
reputation, taking the form of
a servant, and coming in the
likeness of men,
And being found in appearance
as a man, he humbled
himself and became obedient
to the point of death, even
the death of the cross.
Therefore God also has
highly exalted him and given
him the name which is above
every name,
that at the name of Jesus every
knee should bow, of those in
heaven, and of those on earth,
and of those under the earth,
and that every tongue should
confess that Jesus Christ is Lord,
to the glory of God the Father.
Philippians 2:5-11

Important Information

Having disarmed principalites and powers,
he (Jesus) made a public spectacle of them,
triumphing over them in it.
Colossians 2:15

Advice

If then you were raised with Christ,
seek those things which are above,
where Christ is, sitting at the right hand of God.
Set your mind on things above,
not on things on the earth.
For you died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God.
When Christ who is our life appears,
then you also will appear with him in glory.
Therefore put to death your members which are on the earth:
fornication, uncleanness,
passion, evil desire, and
covetousness, which is idolatry.
Because of these things the wrath of God
is coming upon the sons of disobedience,
in which you also once walked when you lived in them.
But now you must also put off all these:
anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy,
filthy language out of your mouth.
Colossians 3:1-8

Continue earnestly in prayer, being vigilant in it with thanksgiving;
meanwhile praying also for us,
that God would open to us a door for the word,
to speak the mystery of Christ, for which I am also in chains,
that I may make it manifest, as I ought to speak.
Walk in wisdom toward those who are outsidee, redeeming the time.
Let your speech always be with grace, seasoned with salt,
that you may know how you ought to answer each one.
Colossians 4:2-6

Test all things;

hold fast what is good.

by captivity and plundering.
