A list of the guidelines and rules regarding the proper use of the Internet is referenced below. These guidelines have been set forth by the NCC Committee to protect the user(s) of the Internet as well as the property of the Newport Cultural Center.
Before accessing the Internet, please use the sign-up sheet (which can be found at the main desk) and fill in the appropriate information requested.
The librarian will have absolute control over use of the Internet, meaning that if it is determined that a patron is abusing the privilege of accessing the Internet, the librarian may decide that your access be terminated.
Any person found accessing inappropriate material on the Internet may be restricted from further use. An example of what is considered inappropriate is available at the main desk.
Time limit for Internet use is 1 hour. If you decide you need more time to complete your research, see the librarian and s(he) will determine if more time is available.
Patrons of the Cultural Center, age 14 and under should be accompanied by a parent or guardian while using the Internet.
No beverages or food items are allowed near the computer or related equipment.
This equipment is for educational and e-mail purposes only, and any other activities are prohibited.
The Newport Cultural Center is willing to accomodate all of your resource needs. Thank you for your patronage.
