Although very useful in everyday life, gunpowder is very unstable. When it is packed tightly in small spaces, even the lightest bumb could cause explosion. This is especially true in old ammunition and military rocket shells that where never used and are stored carelessly. |

Because gunpowder is a rapid burning compound, it can easily be ignited and once ignited its nearly impossible to stop the cumbustion reaction. Wether its from a match, fuse or spark from somthing as little as static electricity off someones clothes. So gunpowder needs to be carefully stored and handled to prevent any unwanted explosions. |

When gunpowder is used to make TNT, a very strong explpsive is created. Although it is a very strong explosive mixture, it is unhealthy to handle with bare hands or without protective clothing. The Potassium Nitrate used in gunpowder is a very toxi chemical that can cause severe head achs and even reproductive defects if one is in a sittuation were they are experience prolonged exposure to gunpowder and/or TNT |
