The
general meeting of the club held on the last week of June decided to organize
campaign that would collect funds and other materials for the flood victims
of Terai region, who were hit hard by the monsoon. 1st VP Leo Rita Shrestha
was appointed the coordinator for the campaign.
The campaign was successful as it was able to collect a sum of Rs. 8800. The Leos collected funds mainly at the Tribhuvan University, Kirtipur premises and the Buddhanilkantha area. Similarly arround 7 bags full of usable clothes were also collected by the Lions form Kathmandu Capital and the Leos.
The fund collected was handed over to the VDG of 325-A Lion Biswo Ram Gorkhali on 21st August 2004 at the Blood Donation and Grouping program organized by the club. Club president Leo Bal Krishna Shrestha handed over the fund to VDG Gorkhali.
