Frequently Asked Questions

About Solis
Solis comes from a long line of very powerful saiya-jin females who have transcended their powers of pure destruction (which is typically associated with the saiya-jin race) and have become healers. She lives on the Sun which is not really a star as we understand it (according to the legend Gohan sites) but is acutally an extremely massive, compacted planet, perhaps like a quasar or something, on which Solis lives. It is her extreme ki energy which gives the atmosphere its never-ending glow. This is seen from Earth as a burning hydrogen gas, when in fact it is a saiya-jin letting her excess energy pour off of her. I've been asked about Solis's transforamtion in Part 4. She actually transcends the "SSJ4" level and in actually several power levels higher than that. I was trying to discriminate her incredible power from the other saiya-jins in Toriyama's series.

About the Drakes
The drakes used to be what were once called dragons on earth. They each had different planets throughout the universe, but when their secret, wish-granting powers were discovered, they fled to the only safe haven they could find: Balite. It has been entertained by the generations of female who have lived on Balite that the drakes had the ability to (and did) call the current guardian's chosen mate to the planet. They did this in order to insure that the guardian's wouldn't die out, leaving them without a protector and nifty star-like camouflage.

About the Overall Continutity of Forgotten
The story starts out when Burori is sent careening through space in the wake of the comet that destroyed New Vegeta into a mysterious, glowing planet (i.e., Balite, a.k.a., the Sun). When Burori is sent away by Solis, he takes the capsule which appears in the beginning of Moive 10, but was non-existent at the end of Movie 8, so in essence, I've filled in a story gap for Toriyama. Part 5 begins at the finale of Movie 10, when Gohan, Goten, and Goku perfrom a perfect kame hame ha to blow Burori into the Sun. And then, of course, it's no surprise that he lands on Balite (which IS the sun).

What's the deal with the eight year gap (or so) between Movie 8 and Movie 10? Where did all that time go in the fic?
Well, I don't know. I'm just working with what I've got, here. The fanfic takes place over a couple of weeks, but the time before Burori crashes onto Balite (the first time) can be interpretted as him having floated, amiless and unconcious, through space for several years. (Mostly, I've just ignored the fact there WAS a huge time-gap in the interest of making the fic short and sweet.)

Why'd you skip over Movie 10's events in the fic? Couldn't you have re-written all of that from Burori's point of view?
No. Don't ask me to unless you never want to see the end of this fic again! It would take me forever and there's no point since after Burori gets his memory/insanity back, he turns back into the fighter he was at the end of Movie 8. Burori's sole purpose in life is, once again, to destroy Kakarotto. I can only write so much where the only thought process going through a character's head is "Die, Kakarotto!" It would be extrememly boring for me to re-write Movie 10 and no new insights into Burori's character would be made. So, to keep the fic interesting and flowing and focused on interesting stuff about Burori (not stuff we already know) I skipped reiterating Movie 10.

Are Solis and Burori in love? The fic never says.
The fic never says because I don't personally think that Burori and Solis are the kind of people who would openly admit such an emotion. Both of them have their siaya-jin instincts in tact, so it seems to me that admitting any kind of weakness (even an emotional one) would be counter-instinctual to them. However, they do care about each other, respect each other, and recognize that they are extremely compatible. They probably do love each other, but that emotion is buried under other emotions and neither one particularly makes the effort to uncover it.

Are you ever going to write a sequel?
I have a rule. If I can't make the sequel AS GOOD AS the first story, then I refuse to write one. I have always felt that one should stop when one's ahead and I don't want to ruin the idea I started in Forgotten by writting a less-than-equivalent sequel. And, since I don't have a really great idea for a sequel, I won't be writting one anytime soon. Sorry!
