0-2
Van Der Sar - 7 - Did well when needed to.
O'Shea - 6 - Very average performance from him and couldn't stop Luque exploiting him.
Heinze - 7 - Fought bravely on the left as well as supporting the frontline.
Ferdinand - 7 - Didn't put a foot wrong.
Silvestre - 6 - Didn't have much to do, but still kept concentrated in the match.
Keane - 7 - Was the focal point of Man Utd and caused Newcastle to attack down the flanks.
Fletcher - 6 - Only had one chance which went over, solid performance though.
Scholes - 6 - Will be disappointed, was kept quiet throughout the match.
Rooney - 8 - His skills were what made Man Utd win this scoring the first and creating the second.
Ronaldo - 7 - Attacked providing good support for Rooney and Van Nistelrooy.
Van Nistelrooy - 7 - Scored a goal towards the end and was a problem throught the match.
Given - 6 - Solid performance
Carr - 7 - Defended and attacked down the right.
Babayaro - 6 - Looks like the left sided partnership of him and Luque is gelling.
Boumsong - 4 - Will be dissapointed for being the cause of Man Utd's goals
Taylor - 8 - Didn't put a foot wrong and was one of Newcastle's best players.
Bowyer - 6 - Showed some good attacking play and will be pleased with what he did.
Parker - 9 - Absolutely brilliant performance in the holding midfield position.
Emre - 6 - Did well in the period of time he was on the pitch.
Dyer - 5 - Didn't do well but not really his fault after revealing he had a hamstring problem from the first minute.
Luque - 7 - Did well down the left and was creating a lot of chances.
Shearer - 6 - 16 games without a goal, not good enough.
Subs:
Jenas - 6- Didn't show any enthusiasm at all and put in an average performance.
Ameobi - 6 - Good performance for him but not for Newcastle.
Faye - 6 - Defended when required to.
Subs:
Smith - Not on long enough
Park - Not on long enough
All in all Man Utd will be pleased with their second half performance and maintain their 100% record. Newcastle, on the other hand, showed signs of becoming the force they once were but need a player like Owen to give them that cutting edge.
