Welcome to the newly-created Titans webpage. For those of you who don't know the Titans, they have had a 13-3 record for two years in a row, this year having the best record in the NFL. Last year, they became the surprise AFC Champions after beating the Jacksonville Jaguars for the third time on January 23, 2000 to enter the Super Bowl as underdogs yet again against the St. Louis Rams and come within one yard of forcing the first Super Bowl overtime in NFL history.
Now the MIB (Men in Blue) are entering the playoffs once again, this time with a bye week and home-field advantage through-out. Last year they only had one game in the magical Adelphia Coliseum, later known as the Music City Miracle. With 16 seconds left in the game, down by one point, they pulled a trick play which they called the Home Run Throwback, stunning Bills and Jaguars fans, not to mention everyone else, as they lateraled the ball for a touchdown. After the lateral was ruled legal, it was official: the Titans won.

After beating Tennessee's favorite kid, UT's Peyton Manning, and beating the Jaguars three times in a season, twice at home (an NFL record), the Tennessee Titans, right off their inaugural season, were headed for Atlanta for Super Bowl XXIV, much to their fans' delight.
You probably know what happened next. The Rams had a dominant first half, despite the fact that the Titan's defense kept them to field goals. However, after their strong safety Blaine Bishop was knocked out of the game, the defense became a bit more yielding, allowing a couple of second half touchdowns which in the end cost them the game. Still, the Titans, fired up from their Coach Jeff Fisher's halftime speech, made an incredible comeback, which ended in a famous helpless thrust by wide receiver Kevin Dyson towards the endzone.
This season, however, with news stations proclaiming their new motto ("One More Yard"), the Titans started the season with a loss. And in the end came back with a win streak that carried them to a 13-3 mark, including 2 end-season shutouts against the Browns and the Cowboys, 24-0 and 31-0 respectively. That's where we are today, December 28, 2000, as the Titans enter a bye-week as they await the Wild Card games this weekend.
No, this isn't a lot of information, I know. I'm just getting started with this page. This is only a skeleton of what I hope to make this page. But please e-mail me with any suggestions at [email protected]
