how to use it:
load the file named music.txt in the directory named CAMusic.

press the space bar many times to advance many generations.

now go to View->CA music.

enter the filename of the outputed midi file.

click play to play the music. 

note: if don't hear any strings in the output midi file then you can
try restarting frank's java cellular automaton program
and choosing a new filename.

here are the different fields:

rule type: 
what rule to use.

num notes per chord: 
how often to change the chord and
how many notes to play before changing the chord.

min cell space for a long note
how far apart should the cell that plays a note be from
the next cell that plays a note for it to play a long note.

tempo:
the tempo of the music or how fast it is.

midi output file name:
what should the output file be named.

notes played at a time:
the number of notes in the melody that are playing at any time. 
(that does not include the notes that make up a chord)

chord volume:
what volume to play each chord at.

key to play in:
what music key to does it play in.

swap the notes around:
if checked then it randomly swaps the notes in the melody around.

use two octaves:
if checked then it uses 2 octaves instead of 1 for the melody.
