A) Some IDE drives need 40 pin, 80 conductor 18" cables, and a controller that supports them.
B) On an x86 computer, INT 13h, AH =02 can be used to read a sector from a disk into memory.  For example, the following program will read one sector from cylinder 0, head 0, sector 1 (the partition table) of hard disk 0 to ES:0200

MOV AX,0201    // AH=02 is 'read sector(s)' service for int 13h; AL=01 is the number of sectors.
MOV BX,0200    // 0200 is the starting address within ES in which to put the data that was read.
MOV CX,0001    // Cylinder 0, sector 1. CL's 6 LSBs are sector number; CL's 2 MSBs form 2 MSBs of 10 bit cylinder number, CH is 8 LSBs of cylinder number.
MOV DX,0080    // DH=head number; DL=drive number, where 80h is first hard disk.
INT 13    // Do it.
INT 21    // End program.

This is a quick reference, based on what I've read at http://iserver.ivc.cc.ca.us/faculty/dehrlich/ASMGUIDE/ng79205.htm

Some glide slope receivers...

use frequencies of 329.150 MHz to 335.000 MHz with 150 kHz spacing.

I am toying with the creation of Stereo Image Random Dot patterns, using Persistence of Vision to create the 3D models. To do this, I found the BMP format to be useful.
