Kosovo Posts
Comrades,
I know it is perhaps rather disrespectful to send these rather
long mails I have posted previously on Kosovo. I have attempted to use a
large number of sources and facts in their construction, more so in some
than others, to outline the analysis of Yugoslavia that I subscribe to.
However, I haven't finished my reply to Macdonald yet which is still rather
over-inflated. I should emphasise I am a Trotskyist; what occurred in
Yugoslavia was one of two possible historical outcomes - a capitalist
counter-revolution undertook by the bureaucracy instead of a workers'
political revolution.
I'm sorry, Mac - and you know that I have nothing against you personally,
you're a nice enough guy - but your post displays extraordinary ignorance
(on Yugoslavia as a whole, particularly on the reasons of its break-ups and
on capitalist restoration), naivety (in supporting the Milosevic regime
politically and implying, absurdly, Yugoslavia to be a 'socialist' state),
idealism as opposed to dialectical materialism which you have yet to apply
(such as your view of the Yugoslav Communist Party which apparently exists
in a vacuum representing only itself, and of emphasis on 'socialist'
state...i.e. states run by ideas), and often disgusting ideas which probably
owe more to ignorance, such as supporting coalition with fascists
(acceptable in present conditions, you declare, as well as keeping them
under control...that's what they said about the Nazis) and reactionary
militia.
As far as I can tell, Macdonald, you have read nothing in terms of books on
Yugoslavia. I have read several books and immense volumes of sources and
corresponded with a Yugoslav woman for nearly a year, including when her
country was being blown to bits. My age is irrelevant since on this
particular subject I am more knowledgeable than you, so your attempts to
patronise me go straight over my head. I profoundly disagree with your
POLITICAL support of any old regime ranging from Milosevic to Gaddafi. I
have yet to see you employ dialectical materialism. So as many others have
suggested to you, I strong recommend you read up on Yugoslavia and perhaps
on Marxism.
I look forward to feedback. In the past I have been called both a
mouthpiece of NATO propaganda and a mouthpiece of Serbian fascist
propaganda. Perhaps confusing, perhaps controversial.
Cheers
Owen
