and busy again with all kinds of activities.
Weer een jaar voorbij, en wat is er al niet gebeurd?
We had a reunion of
the family in Huntsville.
Er was een reunie van de familie in Huntsville
(ongeveer 200 km van Toronto)
Helmy and Hans
celebrated their 70th birthday
and invited everyone for the day in Huntsville.
This became a reunion for the family. We had approx. 80 people in attendance.
Helmy en Hans vierde hun 70 st verjaardag
en wij waren allemaal uitgenodigd.
Er waren ongeveer 80 Vanderkooy leden aanwezig.

The longest one of 1198 km came with a gold ring as a prize.
Tom had een succesvol jaar met de duiven en won al de lange afstand races van dit jaar.
De langste race '1198 km' kwam met een prijs van een gouden ring.

September 4th was Tom and his twin brother's
birthday. They turned 70
Especially for this day Ed (who lives in Holland) came to celebrate this event with his twin brother and
brought his wife Riet with him.
And to make is extra special Tom's brother Karel came with his wife Riet also from Holland.
We had to have a party and the family Vanderkooy came again to join us for this
day..
Op 4 September was Ton 70 jaar jong en vierde dit met zijn
tweeling broer.
Zijn tweeling broer Ed die in Holland woont kwam speciaal hiervoor naar Canada met zijn vrouw Riet.
En zijn broer Karel kwam mee met zijn vrouw Riet.
Wij hadden een party en de Vanderkooys kwamen weer trouw meevieren.

They were very gracious to have us all over to celebrate Christmas with the family.
Dan nog de Kerst party bij Wim en Terri. Dank je Wim en Terri wij hebben genoten.

WE BECAME CANADIAN CITIZENS ON DECEMBER 19TH.
Een verrassing voor velen is dat wij Canadees zijn geworden op 19 December.
Tom had an operation on his gums the week before and you can see
it on the picture.
We did not plan that very well. So here we are Dual Citizens of this great
country and the Netherlands.
We were the only ones of the 13 Vanderkooys who were not Canadians yet. We are
the 'hekkesluiters'.
Tom had de week ervoor een operatie aan zijn kaak gehad.
Dat was niet goed voor de foto op de dag.
Wij waren de laatste van de Vanderkooys om Canadees te worden zo wij zijn de 'hekkesluiters'.
