| New Experience Point System I'm moving to a new experience point system based on a system posted by Rel at d20 Reviews. The new system moves away from the kill the monster, get the experience points to a more rounded character playing reward system. Every session the characters will be evaluated in the following categories: Combat, Magic, Learned, Creation, Skills, Social, Puzzle, Goal, Sacrifice, and Character. Specifically, they will be evaluated as follows. Combat -- Characters involved in melee combat, double points if the combat is especially hard. No extra points if the combat is hard due to bad luck or player stupidity. Magic -- Characters using spells, spell like abilities, or magic items in a way that benefits the party. Learned -- Characters learn information important to the campaign (through their own means) or the character learns something more personal (a life lesson). Creation -- Character or player creates something in or out of the game. Skills -- Character uses his skill in a way that benefits the party. Social -- Character has meaningful interaction with any NPC. Puzzle -- Character solves a trick, trap or puzzle. Goal -- Character or party meet an individual or group goal that has been stated and they are striving for. Sacrifice -- Character gives up something or puts himself at excessive risk for what he feels is right. Character -- Players who attend should get this every session for stating the ways they were playing in accordance to their character personality. For each category the character will receive one point when they do something that qualifies. At the end of the session the points (Session Points) will be totaled and experience will be calculated using the following formula. Experience Points = Session Points x [50 + (15 x Character Level)] |
