Vajradhara (Tibetan: Dorje Chang )

Vajradhara

Bodhisattva aspect of the primordial and nondualistic Buddha dimension from whom all other 5 elements origin. He is accompanied by a dragon (his magical riding vehicle) and peaceful emanations of the Bodhisattvas Manjushri and Vajrapani. His crossed arms, holding vajra (symbol of male energy) and gantha (=bell, symbol of female energy) symbolize the overcoming of dualistic concepts. In the Gelugpa tradition he is seen as the highest Buddha.
