2006 Freedom Rally
May 6 & 7, 2006 - Springfield, IL

Hello Mates! Sorry I have been so long in getting 2006 photos up. I've had to link two web sites together to get more space. And I knew it would be a drag and it was. But hey, it is up and running and I'm good for a couple more years of photos...I hope. So I'll keep them to a minimum. This years rally was fantastic. Why you ask? Well, it was the weather. Yup, it was perfect. Nice and sunny and warm. Gee, what the heck is with that? Consider the last two years. Cold and crappy. So this year was a nice change of pace. We had a great time and the run was just great. So take a quick romp through these photos and see what you think. The photos should look especially nice this year as I bought a new hi-res SONY camera. As always, the photos are available in hi-res format if you want a copy. Just contact me at [email protected].

This photo is extra special. It is a composite of three photos I took from left to right. Then I used Photoshop to merge and blend them together into one panoramic photo. It is very high resolution and would make a great photo to hang on a wall. It shows the parking lot at the IDOT Center and gives you a good idea of just how many were in one small area of the lot. I just love this photo because you can zoom in and see anyone's face in great detail.

Popeye and Barb getting ready. It was a bit cool to start out. But hey, look at that sun.

Becky signing in people as they arrive at Buster's in Mendota.

Bobby watches as Pack Rat pulls his hand.

At the bar, the girls were more than willing to let me take their photos.

And we brought our "teddies" for the kids. Thanks Sylvia and Mike!

I just had to take a photo of this very early Gold Wing. Remember when they looked like that?

Another cool shot of the front of the parade line before we left for downtown.

I thought this was a pretty cool pose. Kind of represents what we actually go to Springfield for.

The riders came in pretty early this year. Much unlike the past two years when attendance was so sparse due to bad weather.

More arriving and starting to fill up the second lot.

Just look at all those "teddies".

Any photo of our guys with a flag is cool.

Guest speakers. Can't remember this guys name.

It was a moving experience for some. I guess maybe I should have cropped out that guys gut though. Oh well. Maybe next time.

A shot of our group. Notice the sun and lack of rain gear.

A group shot of I don't know who. But they were happy about it.
