Fall 2006 I was eagerly awaiting the arrival of my own Silken Windhound puppy.
I had patiently waited over a year for this particular breeder to have another litter.
Sadly, due to unexpected medical emergencies in my family, the timing just wasn't right....
With a heavy heart, I regretfully let my puppy go to another person on the breeder's waiting list.
I had already fallen in-love with "circle spot pup" as he was originally referred to.
Since I was needing a large/over-size Silken Windhound puppy for my future
service dog, I carefully chose another California breeder with a planned litter in 2007.
Unfortunately, plans for this early 2007 breeding fell-through, so I again found myself
searching for a planned Silken Windhound breeding from Borzoi lines. I finally
found one with an East coast breeder, but their plans were soon canceled.
Feeling defeated, I sat down & did some soul-searching....
What first attracted me to Silken Windhounds?
Obviously it was because they look like Borzois.
Why do I have a preference for large/over-size Silken Windhounds?
Because they're nearly the size of a small Borzoi.
With this realization, the search for my long-awaited Borzoi puppy began....
