| bienvenue du paris! |
oh god do i love this city. it's everything i ever dreamed paris would be and more. even though i didn't know what to expect. the parisiennes are much cooler than i ever expected, much nicer to americans than the brits. and they're hardly haughty-taughty people into fashion and perfume with their noses stuck up in the air (stereotype)...they're such a cosmo mix, like nyc or london! and the sights, the smells, the sounds, the food...i could go on and on. every building is exquisite and typically french, the best examples i can think of would be the port orleans resort at disney, now i want to go to new orleans baby! spring break next year!? who knows?... met marYam and friends at church near gare du nord, which is where aaron lives. for most of the day, there were 7 of us total, and they were all so friendly to me that i wish i had a group of friends like that...anyway, we walked through a fruit market and headed to gare du l'est to buy our train tix. unfortunately, there was some sort of transit strike, so we were forced to wait an hour for our reservations. everyone else headed ot the musee d'orsey for the impressionist paintings while we waited... and oh, was the weather beautiful! we had complete sunshine and temps in 60s today, a welcome change from the rain and the 40s of london. i have no idea why anyone would choose london over paris for the weather that's for sure! but after racing into the d'orsey to find everyone else, we waited for them in front of the louvre on the patio: tre magnifique! it was so warm and beautiful, and i popped my strawberries down! |
