| original "special edition" cover |
| i Confined was designed to do two things. 1 being play the music that they all loved as best as they can or (most times) just slightly better than they could, (which help them grow stronger). 2 was to add surprises and unexpected song structures as well as blended various forms of music with all kinds of metal to maybe open the minds of those stuck thinking Limp Bizkit is actual music. And it actually somewhat worked. Taking the stages always decked out in some sort of halloween costumery with no real theme, i Confined would rock/spasm out only to pump the crowd up to do the same. Not everyone in the audience liked it and they would feed off of it like a taunt. Those who did like it, really did. It always was a two-day task to clean up after these shows. One performance (the final night of The Pelican in Brantford,ON) lead to the destruction of a car headlight, 3 coffee mugs, piping torn from the ceiling, which found it's way through walls, a hall beer wash and a violated sheep. Where as i Confined was just trying to be nice by offering assorted nuts and blissful songs. Oh well no one really understood it but so many had fun and so many good times were had. But unfortunately they grew up, had some differences, moved away for schooling so that came to an end shortly after releasing the self-titled album which came in a normal and "special-edition" forms. the difference is the normal version contained the live instrument, known songs of i Confined. Which are aggressive metal songs with blends of funk, jazz and flat-out wacky cartoon-ish parts. Much to the likes of the S/T System of a Down, Mr. Bungle (& related projects), Primus and Incubus . Where as the "special edition" contained those tracks as well as a bunch of experimental b-side songs (much like the boredoms/merzbow), all bunched together in 3 tracks to help tell the story. Now the i Confined album is available as the "special-edition" but with the standard versions artwork, and all the songs are seperated, yet still flowing the same as originally intended. |
