The first day of the 38th year in my life. Dont feel old yet - but if I see just how big our eldest son Max is already - I probably should.
Barbara is working very hard to prepare for the move. I am focusing primarily on staying out of her way. It has become a family tradition that I catch up on the last three months of movies around the time that we move. Does not look like it will fly this year. Instead been fairly busy focusing on the kids. Playgrounds and more playgrounds. Picked up a good idea in the play ground this morning - a very low cost tennis training solution for kids.
Surprised at how good a deal we got on pretty much all the furniture we bought during our years in India. The appraisers have valued most pieces at 5-15 times what we paid for it. Surely beat dot-coms as an investment over the last couple of years. It turns out that the Tibetan weddign chests which we hand-picked in Nepal and a William IV 'swing-bed' are the best pieces. Some further surprises as a marble top table that I was ready to junk may be worth several thousand dollars. Go figure.
The whole family is getting excited about a Collie. I have tracked down a number of breeders in Connecticut. Lets see what they respond to my emails. We are keen on a puppie even though social responsibility suggests a rescue dog may be more appropriate. Collie seems the right dog for us - bursts of high energy interspersed with a cozy and comfortable couch potatoe moments.
