Where Is The Love?
September 15, 2003
I was just thinking... There's a lot of things that are good in this world. Haha I know, I know. What a statement. But previously I've had this mindset that if I wanted to find good things, I basically had to find them on my own. However, today, I've realized that there's a lot of it around me.
Today I was listening to the radio, and I heard a song that had very meaningful lyrics (this is my favorite part):
Whatever happened to the values of humanity?
Whatever happened to the fairness and equality?
Instead of spreading milk, we're spreading anamocity
Lack of understanding leading us away from unity
That's the reason why sometimes I'm feeling under
That's the reason why sometimes I'm feeling down
It's no wonder why sometimes I'm feeling under
Gotta keep my faith alive 'til love is found
And look what I found from Haroun and the Sea of Stories by Salman Rushdie:
"'But it's not as simple as that,' he told himself, because the dance of the Shadow Warrior showed him that silence had its own grace and beauty (just as speech could be graceless and ugly); and that Action could be as noble as Words; and that creatues of darkness could be as lovely as the children of the light. 'If Guppees and Chupwalas didn't hate each other so,' he thought, 'they might actually find each other pretty interesting. Opposites attract, as they say.'"
Love,
