Obituary for William Cleveland Tingle

1885 - 1967

William Cleveland Tingle, 82, of 3213 Virginia Beach Blvd., Virginia Beach, a retired employee of Watters & Martin Wholesale Hardware Co., died Wednesday in a Norfolk hospital.

A native of Craven County, N.C., he was the husband of Mrs. Hattie Strange Tingle, and a son of the late Andrew Jackson and Mrs. Harriet Kinsall Tingle. He was a member of the Light of Truth Church of Divine Healing.

Surviving, besides his widow, are a daughter, Mrs. Mary T. Lemke of Hampton; two sons, Andrew J. Tingle of Virginia Beach, and Air Force MSgt. William J. Tingle of Orlando, Fla., and three sisters, Mrs. Gertrude Andrews of Norfolk and Mrs. Lela Gaskins and Mrs. Gladys Reynolds, both of Vanceboro, N.C.

A funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday in Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Norfolk, with burial in Rosewood Memorial Park.
