Cuter than a Morlock, funnier than a Foelian (better dancers, too), and supposedly sentient to boot, Lemites are a rodentlike race race located in the post-nuclear squalor of the planet Xuppy. This radioactive ball of mud, strategically located in the backwaters of the Kazerickii-owned Lexikonn system, was briefly described in the journals of the famed explorer Secudus as "a prime example of a galactic practical joke."
Lemites are bipedal (when sober), average 70 centimeters in height, and are covered with thick (and usually matted) golden-brown fur.
Aside from the rare occasion when fifty or so will
mug a lone explorer or drunken crew member, Lemites are generally quite friendly
to visitors (especially if they bring plenty of cash). Most Lemites speak
broken Imperial, and some can speak a few words in Myrrian.
As a race, Lemites are gregarious, exuberant and oversexed, possessing an earthy (and quite annoying to higher lifeforms)sense of humor.
The nativecivilization is an eclectic mixture of mid-20th Terran-Century, salvaged Old Scaled One (21st Terran century), and pilfered Standard Imperial technologies.
In the past, Lemites lived in large, rather unkempt, and crowded burrows. Burrows traditionally consist of anywhere from one thousand to 15,000 Lemites with a single leader. Today, what is left of the Lemite race resides in a single colony, surviving on handouts from naive charities, temporary telemarketing gigs, the rare "pre-emptive space salvage" job, and scrounging for empty beverage cans from along the spaceways.
Secudus also had this to say about the Lemites: "It is always a good idea to follow one of their ancient proverbs: 'Get it in writing'."
Special Abilities? Special Abilities? We don't need no stinkin' special abilities! We're Lemites. Isn't that special enough?
