MY FAMILY
When I was four years old, a lady named Janet  came and took us. we went to live with her. My dad had died and my mom was having a hard time dealing with it.  Jan was our babysitter. She had four kids of her own. But they did not want to see us suffer right along with our mother.
Jan and Cal took us in and took care of us as if we were there own daughters. I'm speaking of myself, Lela, My older sister, Sonia, and my younger sister, Charity. Sonia was 6, I was 4. and Charity was 2.
I did not grow up knowing who my biological mother was. The few times she did come around, I didn't really remember her. Which later in life would prove to be a learning experience in why.
But, either way, I  had a whole new family. I had brothers, sisters, Aunts, Uncles, Grandparents, etc......
Growing up was rough. Jan and Cal fought more and more as we grew. My mom was a little old in my opinion to be raising three small children. She was a little rough around the edges.
Yes, she taught us the difference between wrong and right. But it was just a tad on the abusive side. I think I got more spankings then I really needed. But, she did the best she could. I love her dearly. I love my dad also. We never wanted for anything. We didn't have everything, don't get me wrong. We were far from spoiled. But we had everything we needed.
My dad and I were close. I was the little tom boy. I did everything with him. My dad was a big rig mechanic. I would go on his calls with him and hand him tools. Meanwhile my sisters would go shopping with mom. Funny, cuz I still hate to shop. I went fishing with my dad almost every weekend.
My older sister, Sonia, ran away from home when she was 12 or 13. I can't remember exactly when. It was really rough on me. I was not her best friend nor her mine. But she was a great influence on my life. I missed her dearly.
By the time I was thirteen, my mom was going to move out. Her and my dad decided they had had the best time they were going to and it was time to end it. We went and spent the weekend with my other sister. When we got home, my mom was gone. I resented her for a long time for that. In my life I had two moms who walked out on me. The only person who stayed true to me was my dad. He never left my side.
I'm sorry if you read this mom and feel hurt by it. I don't want you to think I don't love you. I do. More than you'll ever know. But this is something I have been carrying around with me for a long time. And I feel the best counceling I could receive is these pages I am constructing. So, forgive me if I hurt your feelings.
Anyway, not long after my mom left, my mother showed up. My dad allowed her to spend some time with us. She talked us into leaving with her to go to California. At the time, our lives were such a mess, I thought it would be a great new start. I was only 13. I was very nieve at the time. I packed my room one day. My dad came up with a surprise visit. He wanted to know what I was doing. I just told him that I was getting rid of the kid stuff in my room. Packing it to put it in the attic. The next day, while my dad was at work, we left. We disappeared without a trace. Jan had come by that day to take us shopping. And found that we were not there. She called my dad and they called the police.
when they did find us. My mom went to jail. They wanted to charge her with kidnapping. But they could not. For she had not been in the car when we crossed the state line. She got out of jail on my fourteenth birthday.
It was soon to be found that I could not handle living with her either. I loved my new step-dad, and step-sisters. But, I didn't want parents anymore. I had been through so much in my life already, that I figured I would do better on my own. I was right.
I have lived on my own since I was fourteen.
I am truely sorry for all those I have hurt in my life. I never meant to hurt anyone. I know you have all forgiven us because we were young, but I'm not now. I know what I did. And I feel terrible for it........I love you all
