We were searching the web for information on IPCS on a budget. That took a lot of time as there wasn't any consolidated web site - leading to this brainstorm of setting up our own web site. Our main aim is to source for places of interest on budget. Places where we do not have to spend exorbitant amount for a leisure weekend with the children. If you have places that you would like to recommend, please feel free to email us at [email protected] With Warm Regards, Sheryl, Jaya & Lek Hong
Changi Airport is the busiest airport in the world. It is just an MRT ride away from the city area. A ride costs between S$.080 - S$1.80. (adult farecard) and S$0.40 - S$ 0.50 (child farecard). Children will enjoy exploring the two Terminals and see the planes land & take-off at the viewing gallery. There are a number of eating places located there. Meals will not be a problem. Check out the above website for more information.

For those interested in the Arts or a trip by the Singapore River, come to The Esplanade. The first theme library, Library@esplanade is located on Level 3 of the Esplanade Mall. There are plenty of retail shops to browse through even if you do not intend to make any purchases. You could also plan for a picnic by the river !

Interesting Places for Children in Singapore (IPCS)
Located next to the Singapore Science Centre, it is the first permanent snow centre on the tropical island. Admission rates are generally not low. Look out for attractive promotions as we gained entrance once for only S$4 per entry. What fun it was to have a snow fight and to try out various styles of sliding down the snow-covered slope !

Fuji Ice Palance in Jurong (courtesy of Jasmin, mother of 2 boys)
It is walking distance from Jurong East MRT Station. It cost S$10 for 2 hours of skating time plus rental of skates. You can purchase a pair of gloves at S$2 each. Metal frames are provided for beginners for support. It is advisable to bring along a change of clothes the first time there. It is amazing how fast they learned to skate. The kids were apprehensive in the beginning but begged to return for more. Jasmine, family & friends had a lot of fun there.
