Peak Village
On board a
pleasure-boat, sailing from Guilin City, one can
enjoy a series 
of
breathtaking scenery comprised of extraordinary
hills along the Li River (Lijiang). When the boat
passes the Dragon Gate Village and goes straight
through the Carp Shoal, a magnificent prospect of
thousands upon thousands of mountain peaks come to
view. They rise sharply 
into the
skyline at various heights, and are steep and
elegant.
People call this village Grotesque Peak
Village. The Grotesque Peak Village is not a
complete surprise to tourists as the proximity of
the peaks when an aircraft lands is something to
be desired. However, it is more interesting to see
a forest of strange peaks at close range.
