Seven Star Park
East of
the Li River (Lijiang), Seven Star Park, whose
name derived from a cave, is one kilometer away
from the city's core. It occupies more than 40
hectares and is Guilin's largest and most
beautiful natural park. Attractions include
fantastic hills, rivers, caves and rocks. At the
center is Seven Star Hill which is made up of four
peaks of Putuo Hill and three of Crescent Hill.
The crystalline Xiaodong and Lingjian rivers
gently flow through the park while the ancient
Floral Bridge
straddles the southern entrance. Dragon Retreat
Cave near the southern gate houses a great number
of stone tablets. Camel Hill stands to the east of
Seven Star Hill, beside which is a potted
landscape garden, and to the other side is a zoo.
A children's playground lies to the south. Putuo
Hill is decorated with not only the Seven Star
Peak, but with Putuo House, Embrace River and the
Crescent Pavilions as well.
