| Tower of the Four Winds Chronicle 1: The Tower It was time again, time to leave a home she had only begun to know and move to another. Didn't anyone want her, or rather, would anyone keep her? Events and chaos kept occurring around her. Hopefully one day, one day soon, she'd live somewhere where she could be accepted for these things that happened to her and the powers she had acquired. Now she arrived at yet one more relative. It would be the same old song here, maximum chore duty and little recognition. Strangely enough there was an interesting school nearby that seemed rather quaint. No one was allowed in though, so Leiko disregarded it for nothing. Ring the bell; ring the bell, I know. leiko: *rings doorbell* lore: *opens door* coming...*walks to door and opens* hello? leiko: *bows* hi there sir, my name's leiko suzuka. i've come to live here, you're one of my relatives i suppose? lore: ah yes. i remember. i'm lore, i'm a distant uncle i believe. leiko: *nods* may i come in, sir? lore: *blinks* call me lore, and yes you can. leiko: *steps in* *looks about* you have a very nice home... lore: thank you. right to the point then, where do you intend to stay? leiko: wherever you will have me. *states this plainly* lore: would you wish to chose? *quirks a brow* leiko: o.o; @ being given a choice *blinks* um...preferably a room with...a window? lore: *nods* there's one upstairs to your left, you'll have to move a couple boxes, but it has the best view. leiko: thank you sir lore...*bows and goes upstairs quietly* lore: *watches her* once your done...i'd like to talk to you in the study down here to the right of the stairs. leiko: *nods* *continues upstairs* ~*~ later... leiko: *knocks on door of study* excuse me? may i come in sir lore? lore: yes, please come in. leiko: *opens door slowly* you wanted to see me? lore: *sighs* is it true what i hear about your misfortunes? leiko: depends what you hear and who you hear it from, but most of the time, yes it is true. lore: telepathy, telekinesis, and what was it? leiko: psychic waves. lore: all from the loss of your parents? leiko: and my brother, yes. lore: i'm truly sorry. please, sit down. leiko: yes, sir. *sits* lore: leiko, i didn't tell your other relatives this...and now i'm about to tell you. first though, let me ask you, would you wish to control these powers? leiko: yes. lore: would you use them to benefit others or yourself? leiko: i would like to be able to help myself understand why i have these-powers, so i could help others. lore: ...you're ready then. you will go to the tower of the four winds and learn there. leiko: tower of the-*pause* four winds? ~*~ So that's how it had come to be. The next few days Lore taught Leiko the essentials for going to the Tower. What is this tower that we speak of? A place of learning for those gifted with magic powers. A wizardry school to say the least. The tower itself is the highest learning center. The four winds are the other halls where learning takes place, ranging from limited skill to mid-level skill. Leiko was very confused of course, because when she lived with other relatives she wasn't treated as kindly as this man was treating her. What did he have to gain from her learning, other than to have a safe home? It wouldn't matter now; she stepped into the subway train as Lore looked at her with hope filling his eyes. lore: be careful...not everyone at the school is so helpful. leiko: yes, sir. lore: ...i never thought i'd say this to anyone, but you were really like a daughter to me these last few days. leiko: a daughter? *blinks* lore: ...like i said. be careful...remember the small things i taught you. leiko: *nods* goodbye, and i too thought of you somewhat as a father. lore-sama... lore: o.o *surprised* The train set out at full speed as Leiko walked slowly to her seat. Would she ever see that man again? He was in a way, the only thing remotely to a father that she could remember. Would she lose him like her parents and brother? All she could hope for now would be this school. She had decided to join; she had read the rules and code of conduct. She was wearing the mandatory dress of all black, so what would be next to come? Leiko took hold of a strap hanging from the ceiling and looked about waiting for the car to stop at her arrival location. elie: ja-naru? ja-naru? where are you? *going through crowd* excuse me, sorry! ja-naru? leiko: *blinks* *sees a girl with short orange hair come towards her dressed in all black* elie: *blinks seeing leiko* hi there! *smiles* can you help me? leiko: uh... elie: i'm looking for my friend ja-naru. she's about yey tall, has pink hair, and dressed in all black like you and me. *looks at her hopefully* leiko: um...i can try. *closes eyes* elie: *smiles more* you're a mage aren't you? leiko: uh...*eyes still closed* sort of. could you please be quiet? elie: opps! *covers mouth* leiko: *sees a vision of a pink haired girl looking about for someone* *opens eyes* she's at the back of the car by a boy with a blue cap. elie: thank you so much! *huggles her* i hope we both get along at the school. leiko: what school? elie: the school of arts, tower of the four winds. leiko: you're going too? elie: of course! didn't you notice my clothes? leiko: o.o; sorry. elie: it's okay. ja-naru: elie! i found you! elie: what? that's not fair! i was just going to go look for you! this girl even helped me with her abilities ja-naru! ja-naru: i'm sorry. ^-^; can i make it up to you? leiko: no, it's okay. a girl with long blonde hair approaches elie and ja-naru from behind. ivy: elie! ja-naru! i thought i heard familiar voices! elie: ivy-chan! it's good to see you! *hugs* ivy: who's your new friend? leiko: *blinks at all this happening* elie: she hasn't told us her name yet. leiko: my name is leiko. elie: nice to meet you leiko. ^~ ja-naru: alright, same here leiko-chan. leiko: leiko-chan? o.o ja-naru: yeah, you're going to be my best friend from now on. elie: not fair! i met her first! leiko: you can both be my friends if you want. ja-naru & elie: okay! ivy: leiko, are you going to our school? leiko: *nods* i think so. ivy: alright! i can't wait to introduce you to some of the more vibrant of your classmates. leiko: *thinks* more vibrant? o.o; a girl with long red hair in a ponytail approaches ivy. tersa: 'ello all. what are we up to? *leans on ivy* ivy: tersa, this is leiko. tersa: 'ello there leiko, are you ready to get heading to our school then? leiko: is everyone on this car going to our school? ivy: some of them...and then some of them are heading towards the other winds. leiko: the other winds...the lower learning levels? ja-naru: you've been doing your homework leiko-chan. a girl hiding behind tersa looks at leiko very shyly. tersa: don't be so shy ami, come and introduce yourself. *smiles and hugs her* ami: ...hi, my name's ami. oo;; leiko: nice to meet you. *bows* ami: *bows* same here. ivy: ah well, we better get our spots back before some rude boys take them. ja-naru: boys are always rather rude in our school leiko-chan. be careful of them. elie: some of them are okay though... tersa: we use most of them for man slaves though...*laughs* just kidding. ami, i'm headed back, you can stay if you want. ami: ah-wait! *follows tersa* elie: you seem like a really nice person leiko-san, it was nice to meet you. i hope we can become great friends. *bows* bye for now! ^-^ leiko: *thinks* such wonderful people...*smiles gently* i feel myself lighter. intercom: the train will soon come to a stop at the school of arts tower of the four winds, please prepare you luggage in the next 10 minutes. leiko: well, no troubles there. i have all my luggage on my back. it's all i ever take with me. *sighs* the train suddenly shakes and people begin to hold tighter to the edges. intercom: i'm sorry everyone, seems we are crossing over bad railways. please hold tight, we should be okay. leiko: *blinks* *thinks* why do i have something like a headache now? *holds head a little* the train tips to one side for a second. leiko is standing near a window and holding her head falls over the side hanging over a height of water beneath the railway. leiko doesn't scream but gets very scared and doesn't know what to do. suddenly a boy with long black hair comes to the side of the car by the window and grabs leiko and pulls her in. the train tips back and no one is hurt. intercom: my, that was a bump, wasn't it? (other voice in background: you ditz! we almost got killed and you say that?) alabaster: ... leiko: *holding onto alabaster* ...you saved me? alabaster: *sets her down carefully* this train is crap; don't hang by the windows anymore. pretty girls shouldn't fall and die like that. leiko: *blushes* thank you. alabaster: no problem, miss. *walks off* leiko: *thinks* i could've died. he saved me, didn't he? i can't remember. it all happened so fast. *continues to blush and covers her cheeks* ~*~ at the school... The school of arts was a marvelous thing. 5 buildings and a huge wall. The Tower of the Four Winds stood in the middle of all 4 of the winds. It was an extravagant building with blue and white tile on the outside. Many students gathered around and Leiko looked around with curiosity. A couple people approached her suddenly... a girl with dark violet short hair and many people hanging about her like her toys approach leiko... scarlet: hey there newcomer... leiko: o.o greetings *bows* *blinks curiously* midnight has short maroon hair. midnight: *holding onto scarlet's arm* we've heard of you from ivy...you found ja-naru for elie didn't you? leiko: yes, i did. why do you ask? seph has a beard and short light green hair. seph: *holding onto scarlet's other arm* we thought that we should thank you...our friends are not always so easy to locate. isn't that right leafy? leafy has mid-length brown hair. leafy: yessums. seph, where's my child? seph: who said it was your child? leafy: ah! i'm appauled! leiko: o.o; thunder has a black headband and short light blue hair. thunder: ah...shut your yaps you stupid blokes... leiko: well, you're all very welcome, but it was nothing really. ^-^; i'll be leaving now...*tries to slip off* scarlet: not so fast my pretty...*touches her chin with her finger* are you going to allow me to introduce myself and everyone else? leiko: o.o; sure, no problems here. scarlet: i'm scarlet... thunder: the name's thunder. nice to meet ya, sheela. seph: i'm seph, short for sephiroth. leafy: you wish...>.> *coughs* they call me goddess leafy...although i am a man and a rather sexy one at that. scarlet: theo, darling...introductions mean anything to you anymore? or are you too focused on being tersa's plaything? theo has blonde short hair. theo: hi...i'm theo. okay, i'm done. *walks off* scarlet: well, it was nice to meet you...leiko, is it? leiko: *nods* scarlet: take care...*walks off with the crowd* leiko: *thinks*...it seems things keep getting crazier as i get more into this school. i hope they settle down soon. ~*~ As Leiko walked about the courtyard she began to see more and more amazing things. People creating fire out of nowhere, flowers of water being handed to girls and many other things. Suddenly the bell rang and everyone rushed inside. Leiko stood realizing she didn't know at all how to get to her class. She looked about for any kind of intelligent person to help her. Finally she found a perfect intellectual... leiko: excuse me! *taps the shoulder of a girl with long dark green hair* velvet: hmm? *turns around* what is it? leiko: can you help me? i don't know where my class is. o.o; velvet: oh... *smiles* *looks at the pin on her dress* you're 2nd class to the right. mr. night's, that way. *points* leiko: what? how did you know if i didn't tell you? velvet: the pin you were given when you applied to the school has all available information on you. all i have to do is look at it and say a chant in my head. leiko: a chant? velvet: different chants are used here...mental and vocal. leiko: i understand. thank you! * begins to run off* velvet: you're welcome, but it seems we're going to the same class. leiko: really? o.o would you show me the way then? velvet: yes, we'll walk together. *walks ahead of her* onyx has long blue hair in a ponytail. onyx: velvet, i see you managed to get another 2nd year student to ask you for help. they always flock to you. *smiles* velvet: onyx, we don't have time for your silliness. we have to get to class. onyx: what? it's that late! *runs* ~*~ mr. night's class... leiko: *paying attention* *suddenly looks around wondering what's going on* *pokes the girl in front of her with the bluish purple short hair* celeste: *turns around* yes? leiko: sorry to ask, but what page are we on? celeste: 213 leiko: thank you so much! celeste: no problem. *smiles* leiko: um...could you tell me something else? celeste: yes? leiko: who's that boy with the blondish white hair, and why is he staring at me? celeste: *laughs some* his name's luck and- night: ladies, if you have something to share with each other would you mind sharing the class? celeste and leiko: no sir...o.o; night: right then, who wants to tell me what your all here to learn? enigma has light red short hair. enigma: to be bored by mr. night? people laugh. night: oh someone thinks their funny. enigma: just kidding mr. night. *laughs* night: yes, yes, haha. laugh some while you can, before i turn you all into toads. enigma: he'll do it too, he's turned luck into a cat once. a toad would just be easier. luck: oh be nice enigma....^^; leiko: *looks at luck* luck: *looks at leiko with a smile* leiko: o.o; *looks back at what she was doing quickly* ~ after class... leiko: *picking up books* velvet: my, some lecture that was. leiko: ...i guess so. *grabs another book* onyx: you're still picking up book that way? hasn't anyone shown you the other way? leiko: what? onyx: *smiles* this is what i love about being an upper classman...*takes the books from leiko's hands and sets them on the table* books. the books stand up as if waiting for orders in battle, like soldiers. onyx: send-what's your next class suzuka-san? leiko: room 734 onyx: send-734-*looks at watch*8 minutes the books disappear in a small flash. leiko: what did you do? *looks around* onyx: i'll explain on the way down the hall. *walks looking for her to follow* velvet follows them both quietly. leiko: *runs after* i'm listening... onyx: i sent them to your class that was a mail chant. you pick an object you wish to send, state its name then send, location, and time to be arrived. this only works for items in this tower however. the other mail chants for other places need be a bit more specific. leiko: they'll be at my next class in 8 minutes? velvet: yes, and you have 7 minutes to get there. better hurry ^-^ leiko: bye! *waves and runs off* ~ after classes... Leiko walked down the halls searching but failed to find it. Where could the lunchroom be in such a place? Suddenly she bumped into someone. luck: ah! sorry! *helps leiko up smiling* leiko: i'm sorry. i was just trying to find the lunchroom; do you know where it is? luck: yes, i do actually. *smiles* would you wish me to help you there m'lady? leiko: *nods* o.o; luck: then on we go! *points off into distance* leiko: o.o; *thinks* okay... ~ Finally at the lunchroom Leiko thanks Luck and takes a spot at a table that's seemingly being served by air. Meaning by this that the plates are floating in mid air in a circular path around the table for everyone to grab at. leiko: *holding a dish in her hand* *looks around expecting no one to offer her a seat* elie: leiko-chan! *glomps* leiko: omf! *glomped and almost falls over* ja-naru: hey there leiko-chan. *waves* will you sit with us? leiko: sure, i guess so. elie: yay! *drags leiko off* ~ leiko: *sitting at table* *attempts to reach out for food from a dish, but misses poorly* -.-; elie: ...if you want something you have to grab it at first glance leiko-chan. leiko: *looks at her curiously* *sees a dish come by* *reaches out and grabs it* *pulls it to her* *opens* ...o.O what is this? ja-naru: ew...you grabbed the meatloaf dish. ivy: meatloaf? blech! celeste: why do people even eat meat? poor animals are being killed! *sniffles some* thunder: 'ello sheela's! *sees meatloaf* oh boy, you grabbed a good one there suzuka. leiko: it's all your...>>; seph: food? *head perks up from nowhere* food? where? *sees meatloaf, runs, and grabs before thunder* thunder: hey, that's not fair! gimme that! *runs after* leiko: i've been meaning to ask...what are all of you here for specifically? o.o ja-naru: to be an element master ivy: magic healing and cures for poisons elie: archery with magic! <3 velvet: oh! i'm here to learn the arts and ways to teach others them! in short a teacher. celeste: the ability to speak to animals. onyx: ...sorcerer of the leaders, of course! ^-^ providing magic tactics to armies and their leaders. everyone: what about you? leiko: to control my gifts. velvet: gifts? like what? leiko: watch *raises hand in front of her at midlevel* *looks at a cup across the table* the cup suddenly flies into the air then into leiko's hand. leiko: *places cup on table* *telepathically thinks* that cup took only an ounce of thought...this takes half concentration. elie: wow! that's so kewl! leiko: you think so now, but when i lose control you'll all be far away from me. onyx: everyone has a gift. some of us here can go through walls, some turn invisible, some change shape... velvet: but everyone first comes here for control, just like you. ja-naru: leiko-chan, we won't leave you, we'll help you when time comes. celeste: just as we have with each other. but let's not dwell on things here and now, the food's getting cold. elie: still, it's so awesome leiko-chan. you're a psychic! leiko: *thinks* i'd never thought of it that way...a psychic. ~ Later that evening after another eventful line of classes and a dinner Leiko was led by Velvet to the girl's dorm. Leiko looked about her smiling at the fact that she was in a place where people accepted her and let her live in good conditions. Velvet headed off to her own dorm for the upper-class woman. It seemed Leiko was sharing a room with someone, but at the moment they weren't there. She turned to the window and sat on the window seat. The cool breeze flew in quietly. Something was coming... Alabaster: *running on the rooftop from 4 shadowed figures* *looks behind him* lin: you won't escape! ho, ho, ho! noon: you're in for it!! alabaster: *thinks* crap! i have to lose them somehow! but how? *sees a window open below him as he closes his eyes* there! *jumps off roof* angst: what the heck? no way he jumped! >.>; babylon: well, wherever he went he's gone. we'll get him again, no use in wasting a beautiful night. *smiles strangely* lin: ... ~ leiko: *sighs* alabaster: *slips into the window not noticing leiko until he's in* leiko: *blinks* it's you! o.o; what are you doing here? get out! this is the girl's dorm! get out! lin: *on roof* wait, i think i hear something! ^.^ alabaster: shh! damn you, be quiet! *pushes her against a wall* leiko: excuse me!? >.> you're the one sneaking into the girl's dorm! alabaster: *thinks* ugh! she won't shut up! what do i do? leiko: get off of me! get- alabaster: *kisses her* leiko: *suddenly kissed* o.o; lin: nvm...my mistake. whee! *runs off with others* leiko: *finally pushes him off* what do you think you're doing? alabaster: people are after me. you wouldn't shut up so i- leiko: just leave. *blushing* alabaster: i'm sorry. *turns his head away* leiko: no, i'm sorry. you saved my life earlier today, i just returned the favor right? alabaster: i suppose. leiko: *smiles* i owed you. my debt is paid. alabaster: you're forgiving...* lets go of her and puts arms behind head* leiko: what's your name? alabaster: yours first. leiko: pfft...fine. leiko. alabaster: alabaster. leiko: why are people after you? alabaster: ...some things aren't meant to be told. leiko: fine then, i'll report that you were in the girl's dorm. alabaster: *pushes her up to the wall again* and i'll say you let me in. leiko: >.> you don't scare me...i hear your thoughts. i know what you want. alabaster: than why ask me questions? just read my mind. leiko: i don't want to search for something i can get for asking. alabaster: go ahead and search then...*lets go of her and stares into her eyes* leiko: *closes eyes* ...alabaster, dark knight of the tower. lin, noon, angst, and babylon terrors of the tower. sworn to fight each other. sworn to defeat one another as their father's and mother's did. *opens eyes* a generation war? alabaster: *not surprised she read his mind so easily* yes. leiko: the terrors, there are 4? the knights, how many are there of them? alabaster: just me...i'm the last. leiko: what happened to the others? alabaster: killed. all of them except me, dead. leiko: by the terrors? alabaster: no, by their parents. i am the son of the last dark knight, just as they are daughters and sons of the last terrors. all they have to do is finish me and the game is lost. leiko: but why? why are you fighting? alabaster: i wish i knew. it's not your trouble though. *goes up to the window* don't worry about it, and farewell. leiko: when might i see you again? *quirks a brow* alabaster: the next time you or i need saving i guess. *jumps off from the window* leiko: *watches as he falls and disappears in a cloud of black* god, this day gets stranger by the moment. his past, it's laden with chaos and darkness. he said to not worry, but how can he live being chased like that day to day? *yawns* *lies down on the window seat* i'm so tired. *touches lips* *blushes* ~ Author's Note: Hi there everyone! I guess you'd call me a romantic. <3 Please, you think about sex almost as much as men do. >>; I don't mean to speed things up, I think it's a logical way to fall in love compared to how fast young people do it now a days. Leiko and Alabaster are going to be an exception, their relationship is like a Miaka x Tamahome thing. (I like to compare my characters to other ones from manga and anime). I would show you a picture of them kissing, but... You're afraid of criticism, aren't you? Why a school of magic? Why repeat the whole Harry Potter clich�? 'Cuz I can. That's my reason for everything I do. 'Cuz you can my butt. *knocks the teddy out finally* *coughs* onto the stuff! ~ Chronicle 2: Admiration Days at school went slowly past Leiko's gaze. Neat the end of one school day Leiko found herself getting worried and confused on assignments and homework. In the halls she'd find she couldn't remember where her classes were. She had been getting help from her new friend Luck, but she was stubborn and wanted to find the paths on her own. Her friends all still willing to find whoever who had hurt her so. Even though they assumed whoever did it was just messign with her, the real damage was to her heart and soul, not body. It was never her fault any of these things had happened, but she did blame herself because she needed someone to take the blame upon and found no one but herself. She couldn't blame another person, because she was too kind to do so. The next day (the weekend) was the sort of day for everyone to enjoy and relax.
