| Sabun ::\\//:: It was a sinister humid lurid night as I lay in my bed. Luckily I was inside safe, warm, and snug. I looked out my window wondering if it would ever end. But, it never ends. Ever since this star was born the rain never stops. It never floods, it just rains and rains. So depressing and lonely it is looking outside. I wished I had never moved here, but my parents said otherwise. I miss Earth, even though I hardly remember such a place. I was only 4 when we flew to Sabun, the star of rain. But, I can still remember the sunny days without rain. That's what keeps me from becoming dreary like the others who live in this wet wasteland. My name is Dim. My parents didn't name me until I was I moved here, because that's how the traditions are nowadays. When a child turns 5 they are named. This is to make sure they think long and hard about the child's name, because the first four year's of the child's life are when they start developing their own characteristics and personalities causing meaning to their name. I was tired of thinking about my past. The present is the norm, not the past. That's why my teacher taught me the other day in school. I actually remembered it, which surprised me. I became weary thinking so many things at once. I don't think people think as much as I do about things anymore. When we all came here we were very perspective and open-minded, but the rain changes people too fast...Sleep quickly overcame me then. I snuggled deep into my blankets and slept. I felt that I was drifting slowly in the shadows and a tiny light called out to me...Dreams are so weird aren't they? I pushed back my long purple hair with one ponytail to the side. I could've slept forever there in the shallow room of mine cast in darkness. Dressed in my day clothes of a yellow hat that said, "BAD GRL,", my gray shirt with a jewel on it, my spikey black belt, my cargo green pants, my striped green and black socks, and my black boots. But, unfortunately, my parents had other ideas... ::\\//:: ::dim's mom:: dim, wake up. we're going to the carnival. ::dim:: what's the point. it's raining. it's always raining. ::dim's mom:: yes, well this one's inside. it should be exciting. ::dim:: okay...fine... ::\\//:: They walked for what seemed endless hours on end in the dome of celebrations. We finally came to the carnival. This is the only place that people get an escape from the rain. The government can't offord too much right now. Even if they escape the rain, they know they'll see it again, so they lose interest in even attempting to have enjoyment in their lifes. One boy stood out from the crowd to Dim. He won a prize and looked at me. I couldn't help but blush. He stood to be at least 1'' taller than her and wore black sunglasses, a black jacket with fish net, purple pants with spikes, and spikey brown hair on one side of his head. ::\\//:: ::the boy:: here, you have it... ::dim:: huh? ::the boy:: names poyn if you ever want to give it back if you don't like it. ::dim:: thanks, i guess... ::poyn:: sure... ::\\//:: He smirked as he passed by her. She felt she knew the boy somehow. |
