| Pokemon is an iffy cartoon, some people consider it an anime, and others don't. I decided that since it got me into anime, I should give it the credit of being one. Pokemon (pronounced po-key-mon not po-kay-mon like in the first episodes) is about pocket monsters (get it?) who can fit into little balls called, �Pokeballs,� and when released they can fight other pokemon in battles. Satoshi Tajiri created Pokemon the creator of most of the Nintendo characters and was first aired in the fall of 1996 in the U.S. The series is about a 10-year-old boy (he�s supposed to be 14 � now) named, �Ash Ketchum,� who wants to become the world�s best pokemon trainer. On the day of getting his first pokemon he shows up late and gets an unexpected pokemon named, �Pikachu,� (Electric mouse in Japanese) with incredible shocking abilities (like electricity flowing in its body). At first Ash and Pikachu don�t get along but soon they become very good friends. Together they will be unstoppable force to reckon with. With Misty, and Brock to give him advice Ash will make his way to victory as long as he can get past his rival Gary. Pokemon: The Orange Islands The Orange Island series is after the pokemon league episodes. Ash continues his journey after failing to win. This series presents brand new pokemon like Marril and Lugia. Brock decides to stay with a Professor to study more about breeding and Ash meets a new friend named, �Tracey,� who is a pokemon watcher. Ash also learns new lessons here and finds out that he is �the chosen one,� (during the movie). This season wasn�t very important to Pokemon (just my opinion). Pokemon: Johto Journeys Now were talking! This is when the new 100 pokemon get introduced, Brock returns, and we find out what pokemon that was that Ash saw on his first day of being a pokemon trainer. Ash must once again collect badges to enter the Johto league. Pokemon: Johto League Champions Okay, okay, I know what you�re thinking Ash won the Johto league? Well no, he�s still collecting badges. It�s just basically the continuation of Johto Journeys. I have no clue why they did this�-_- It�s so annoying. Pokemon: Master Quest Once again continuing Johto Journeys. I really hate this. WHAT ARE THEY TRYING TO DO CREATE A MILLION SEASONS!! *Huff, huff* Well, so far I�ve seen this format is a little better and they�ve started introducing more new pokemon. (Another thing I hate, how do I collect all these pokemon if they keep adding 100 more each time I get closer!!) |
