| G Gundam G Gundam is one of the old Gundam series but still a terrific series with love, honor, anger, and sorrow (the whole good package!). It was created by a guy named Yashuhiro Imagawa and first aired in Japan in 1994. The series is about a gundam fighter whose brother ran off with an evil gundam and caused the death of his mother and the isolation of his father (or so it appears in the beginning). The gundam fighter (Domon Kasshu) is the gundam fighter represnetitive of Neo Japan or the Japan in space. Earth has become a dirty battle ground for the mobile suit gundams over the years of the Gundam competition. Each Neo country has it's own gundam fighter and Domone gets to know most of them like Sai Sai-Ci (Neo China), Argo Gulskii (Neo Russia), Chibodee Crockett (Neo America, one of my fav's), and George deSand (Neo France). It's called G Gundam because in Japanese version Burning Gundam (which I own an action figure of) is called God Gundam and Dark Gundam (the gundam stolen by Kioji, Domon's brother) is Devil Gundam. I never got to see the last episode, but I can say this, this Gundam series rocks!! Gundam Wing Gundam Wing is one of the recent Gundam series. (No clue on when aired or original creator...sorry). This Gundam series is about a Gundam pilot named, "Heero Yuy," who is on a mission with his Wing Gundam, Mission Meteor. The earth has once again become a battleground and people move away to the colonies in space. Earth has developed weapons called, mobile suits. Heero with the other 4 young pilots (Trowa Barton, Duo Maxwell, Quatre Winner, and Chang Wufei) must make sure with their Gundams that the war does not eliminate the human race for good. SD Gundam In the land of Neotopia, everything is peaceful until the Dark Axis arrives. It's up to the Gundam Force to save the day! But something isn't right. The Gundams are super-deformed versions of the ones from past "Gundam" series! Get ready for "Gundam" for the kiddies! In this show, the Gundams are living and breathing, and they coexist with humans. Scary, right? And to think I watched this five days in a row just to bring you this review. You aren't worth it. Trust me. Not only is the concept of this anime disturbing, but the art is bad. Really bad. The 3-D graphics would be decent if they weren't colored in the simplistic cell-style. So, not only are my Gundams miniature, but they look like a fourth grader's doodle. Perhaps the best thing about this series is the Dark Axis. (Try not to think of the Axis of Evil, Americans.) These bad guys are incompetent and mainly consist of generic Gundams called Zako soldiers. They serve as comic relief -- not that the show is in need of it. With super-deformed Gundams, you'll be laughing the whole show. Either that, or drowning yourself in tears because the show's creators have destroyed your favorite Gundams. Gundam SEED The year is Cosmic Era 71. It has been nearly a year since the war began between the Earth Alliance and ZAFT (Zodiac Alliance of Freedom Treaty). The war has resulted in a stalemate between the two powers. With the introduction of mobile suits by ZAFT, the Earth Alliance attempts to get the upper hand by creating its own version of mobile suits in a neutral space colony, Heliopolis. ZAFT forces approaches the neutral colony in an attempt to steal the five new Earth Alliance prototype mobile suits. Thus begins anew the war. |
