| Dragonball Dragonball was first aired on February 16, 1986 in Japan and created by a guy named, "Akira Toriyama". It's a story about a unusually strong boy with a monkey tail traveling with his friends to find mysterious round orbs called dragonballs. There are seven of these balls and when you collect them all a dragon appears to grant your wish. But other evil forces want to collect the dragonballs to rule the world so Goku (the boy with the monkey tail) and his friends must make sure that the dragonballs do not fall into the wrong hands. The series is hilarious and was originally a adult cartoon, but when it appeared in the u.s. scenes were cut out and it was dubbed to it's safe version. The show started off as a comic but soon grew so popular it went on television. Now it is seen throughout the world changing peoples lives everyday. Dragonball Z Dragonball Z was the more serious version of Dragonball with tons more fighting and action. The main character (Goku) finally grows up, marries, has a son (Gohan) and finds out his orgin that he is an alien from space sent to destroy the planet. Goku soon encounters his brother and must fight him along with Piccolo who appeared in the Dragonball series. After that he meets other villains such as Frieza, the Andriods, Cell, and my personal fav' Vegeta who soon becomes a good guy. All through the series Goku kicks evil behind and is once again the hero over and over. Dragonball GT Dragonball GT is peaceful in the beginning episodes. The series are about what happens after the destruction of Cell when Gohan has grown up. Goku dies at the end of DBZ (sorry to ruin the ending) so Gohan grows living without his father. Gohan soon starts attending High school and tries to fit in but because of his unique abilities he has a bit of trouble keeping a low profile. Along with saving the day as the great Saiyaman and hiding his secret indentity from the ever so stubborn Videl. The series takes a jump when Bobitie realeased Buu a pink pudgy monster with incredible abilities. So far I've seen it's going very good. The animation is much clearer than it was in the earlier series. |
