You're On Your Own

YOU'RE ON YOUR OWN

In a world with so many people,
How can it be you're so alone?
No matter how many people you see,
In the end you're on your own.
It's you against the universe,
to walk against the storm,
And try to find a shelter
To keep you safe and warm.
Don't believe a person's word,
You must get what you need.
Don't depend on another soul,
They'll stand and watch you bleed.
Don't ever count on a shoulder to lean on,
You're always alone when you cry.
Don't ever grow to love someone,
People always say goodbye.
Dreams don't always come true,
But sometimes nightmares do.
The sun doesn't come out everyday,
And sometimes the wind blows the clouds away.
But look in your heart,
Discover what's right.
Look out for yourself,
It gets lonely at night.
You're the only one you have,
You're very much alone.
You're the only one to protect yourself,
In the end you're on your own.
