RAINDANCE
Raindrops trickling down your face,
water streaming through your hair.
Splashing through the puddles,
your hands held high up in the air.
Applauding as the thunder rolled,
you loved to hear the Heavens sound.
Your eyes would gleam exitedly
as the hot white lightening hit the ground.
How I loved to watch you
as you danced in the rain.
But in my warm, dry shelter
I would stubbornly remain.
I watch the storm alone today,
you've been gone for so long now.
Still warm and dry in my old shelter,
as the rain starts pouring down.
Raindrops flowing down the window,
I'm completely frozen in a trance.
Then a smile creeps across my face
as I remember your raindance.
Now I'm standing in the rain,
tears pouring from my eyes.
I throw my hands into the air
as I look up at the cloudy sky.
The water rushes down my face,
I run wet fingers through my hair.
The lightening strikes, the thunder rolls,
and I feel your presence everywhere.
Laughing and splashing through the puddles,
I thank God for the chance-
To have the rain wash over me
as I delight in your raindance.
