AGONY
It lasted only seconds-
then it was over
as soon as it started.
The searing pain-
my eyes flew open,
my lips parted.
Not sure what to do-
my legs got weak,
I wanted to cry.
The pain all consuming-
such bitter agony
I thought I would die.
It lasted only seconds-
then it was over
as soon as it had begun.
The pain went away,
oh the suffering-
I had bitten my tounge!
