Term of the Month - December 2007
This is the first article for "A Voyage Through History" as well as the beginning of a series of articles called "Term of the Month."  Basically, I will define and explain a historical term.  With that said, December 2007's Term of the Month is "pillage."  I love this word.  It's what Vikings do.  Below, I have a defination of pillage, and I've broken down the art of pillaging into an easy-to-learn five-step process.

Pillage - to plunder, to steal from and destroy at the same time; often associated with the Vikings

Steps:
1.  Construct a Scandinavian sea-faring vessel and set a course for a random Anglo-Saxon village.

2.  Upon arrival in previously determined village, brutally murder all men and children.

3.  Rape all women, and then kill most of them.  Keep the rest as trophies/new wives (Vikings can have as many wives as they want).

4.  Remove anything of remote value and burn the village to the ground.

5.  Sail home with newly acquired riches.

There is an alternative for churches in which you simply kill everyone and burn everything.
