| A quick word about your academic progress. I have no tolerance for student-athletes who think that they are athlete-students. You are a student first and an athlete second. If you fail to perform in the classroom and end up on the ineligiblity list, you will not be permited to play, until your grades have improved sufficiently to earn your way off of the list. If you are in trouble academically, make sure that YOU take the responsibility to fix the situtuation, make tutor arrangments or allocate extra study time, BEFORE there is a problem. If your grades were to become a problem, you would not only be letting yourself down, but also the Logan Elm Soccer Program, and to put it simply, teammates do everything possible to never let each other down. Keep in mind that since soccer is a fall sport, it is your spring quarter grades which determine your academic standing. Be thinking about your status always, but especially in the spring, for failure in the spring quarters classes will equal failure to play in the fall. The team will have study tables before each game, right after school, in the high school cafeteria. Everyone will be required to have school work to do for the hour immediately after school (2:30 - 3:30). The only reason this will not occur is if we must board the bus before 3:30. Teammates will be able to get help from others who are more adept in a particular subject, work on projects, or just get caught up. After study tables are over we will be allowed to make phone calls, get ready, listen to music, or just relax however you like.
