Obituary

Moore, Lana Angel Portland, MI Age 59, devoted wife of 39 years, and beloved mother, grandmother, daughter and sister passed away May 16, 2002. She was born on April 10, 1943 in Lansing, the daughter of Archie and Margaret Tarpoff. Lana was a 1961 graduate of Lansing Eastern High School, having been active in several organizations, and attended Valparaiso University at Valparaiso, IN. She was married to Edward Moore on May 19, 1963, during her lifetime she volunteered as a Girl Scout leader; was an active Ionia County 4-H horse leader for several years and initiated the Portland High School Equestrian Team in 1980. She was a longtime active member of the American and Michigan Quarter Horse Assoc. Lana was recently retired from the Portland Public Schools Food Service dept. after 20 years of service. One of her greatest joys was spending time with her grandchildren. Surviving are: Husband, Edward; Daughter, Stacey (Matthew) Doumit of Mason; Son, Edward (Cynthia) Moore of The Woodlands, TX; 4 Grandchildren, Hannah Rose and Katherine Margaret Doumit, Samuel Edward and Elizabeth Ann Moore; Parents, Archie and Margaret Tarpoff of Haslett; 4 Sisters, Linda Heldman of Scottsdale, AZ, Leslie Peterman of East Lansing, Lori Tarpoff of Holt, Lisa Tarpoff of St. Joseph; Nieces and Nephew, Amy Heldman, Steven and Susie Peterman.
