Biographical InformationAfter graduating from Eastern, Beverly attended Western Michigan University where she earned two BA degrees. One of her degrees is in Social Work and the other is in Women's Studies.Beverly worked in Electrical Engineering at General Motors and retired in 2001. In the social work field she worked for Families First in Kalamazoo, counseling with children that were at risk of being taken from their families permanently due to repeated abuse. She later counseled at a domestic violence shelter as the Resident Counselor. Beverly doesn't counsel anymore but keeps her Social Work license active, thinking she may use it in volunteer work someday. Beverly has done a lot of volunteer work. She was one of 5 people in the USA that won National Recognition for Public Service in 1991. (She is justifiably proud of that.) Beverly's principal hobby is photography. Beverly's "life partner" is Robert (Bob) Stevenson. Bob is also retired from GM and now owns 13th Frame pro shop inside Marvelanes Bowling Center. | |
