...here are some of the things we discussed at Saturday's serving...

1. We currently have $386. We would like to give about $80 to the Wilkes-Barre Food Not Nombs, which has recently formed. We would also like to buy/get a tarp and poles, so that we can serve during inclement weather. We think an additional grill would be a good idea, too. Tables and chairs were suggested because many of the people who come to eat at food not bombs are left standing, which is usually hard to do while eating.

2. Sunday servings, which would probably be from 3-5 pm, were also brought up. This is because a church serves food on Saturdays, and also because some people may not be able to make it on saturday or sunday, in which case they could at least go to one. Also, the suggested location for the Sunday servings is Riverside Park, near where we serve now, because many who are in need of food are there, but may be too hesitant on coming to where we serve now.

3. We also need three or four new banners, which Brian volunteered to take care of.

4. Food Not Bombs stickers are something we want, to post all over and raise more awareness. Tom said that he would take care of this, and we are going to talk to Jamie about buttons.

5. Also, we think that some sort of entertainment, such as an acoustic guitar, would attract more initial attention, allowing the news of FNB to spread more.

6. We just wanted to ask everyone at the servings to make sure that we clean up after ourselves, and not leave plates or garbage behind. Thank you =)

7. Tom P. is letting us use his house as the main storage place, which is great because he lives fairly close to the serving location. (Thanks Tom.)

8. We thought that a Food Not Bombs calendar would also be a good idea, because then we could keep track of when someone might be on tour, vacation, etc.

9. The idea of serving at shows was also brought up, because many people at the shows appreciate, even if it's just something small.

10. Also, Books Through Bars really needs dictionaries!! So, if you have a spare, PLEASE give it to Jordan or Mike from Kill the Man Who questions. Thank you!

(Thank you to Danielle for taking notes during the meeting!)

-Now that we are getting more food fromm Nature's Way and other places, grocery bags are needed to give out so that people have a way of taking things home with them. Please bring as many plastic and/or paper bags with you each week.

-A group decision was made on the tablee issue. We decided not to buy a new table, but to look for tables at second-hand stores. For the time being, Joe volunteered to bring his tables every week that he comes.

-The word has obviously gotten around ttown about FNB - more and more people are coming each week.... that means we need to bring more food and drinks!!! Please please please try to bring either a cooler of water, or a covered dish.

-Our clothing pile is slowly diminishinng... bring your old clothes.

-Since we're LV fnb, and we have a deceent sized group, we should think about spreading out into other parts of the LV. Southside Bethlehem was recommended... some Bethlehem FNB kids said they would look into a good spot to serve.

-Mel asked for more pics for the websitte.

-Mel brought up having a vegan potluck dinner at her house - more details to come.

-Brian offered to make signs... we havee to give him ideas/designs. In the meantime, feel free to make your own signs.
