| Okay, Welcome to LegoScripto (I read, I write, for you non latin speakers). This is my first stab at an online literary journal. The basic idea is for people to just post whatever they want- provided its appropriate of course (and no, I'm not talking about language- just more the actual content). I really want to get this started so send me anything you want. ([email protected]), and just put your name, your piece, and however much information you want given out, on the email. Or if you want to contact me personally its [email protected]. Now that I've got all that out of the way, let me really get into LegoScripto. I dont know about anyone else reading this, but I LOVE to read other people's writing- whether it be poetry, prose, or any other form of language. And while my school has an amazing literary magazine, they are really selective, and so I wanted something where people could just WRITE, and not be judged (unless they wanted to be). So thats the basic idea of the Scripto part. The Lego, is not only reading other peoples work- but even getting and giving book recommendations. I PROMISE NOT TO LET MY OPINIONS GET IN THE WAY, and I WILL post every review of any book I get. So thats just about it. Please do send something though- and if you're REALLY worried about plagerism, I'll set it up so no one can even highlight your work! best of luck - isabelle |
| 12/1- Okay I have a couple things i need to say: 1. To all of you who sent me stuff and it is NOT posted, i'm SOOO sorry, lifes been kinda crazy, but now that its winter,and things are a little calmer, I'll be sure to post them ASAP 2. One of my friends informed me its not legoscripto- its lego scribo, but i looked it up in the back of my latin textbooks, and scripto means author... so while it doesnt make a phrase anymore, everyone can just deal 3. i NEED MORE STUFF, particularly prose.... so if you could just send somethings to me... now that ill be putting them up faster it will be great ([email protected]). Let me review, i dont CARE whether or not i know you, and for all the rest of the babble see below 4. Also... | 12/12/02- For those of you who have accidentily stumbled across this site or who have been sent here: Welcome to LegoScripto! Legoscripto is a non discriminatory web magazine that gets updated every time someone sends me something! for guide lines, scroll down, and look at past postings, but PLEASE send me something... it only takes a minute, and at anyones request i can take somethign down. So Anyways, my rant: First off- my computer crashed so I lost everything NOT posted, so if you know you sent me something, than if you could resend it ([email protected]), that woudl be great. I'm thinking also about starting a works in progress section, so if you have anything you want opinions on, or you just want to post, just send it to me, and I'll put it up. Even if you havent sent me something, please do! Pen names, while not preferred are optional, so if your a little shy than send it with a pen name, but I HAVE TO HAVE YOUR NAME.. this is not a stalker thing, as I don't care whether or not I know you, but rather a "want to make sure no one sent me something that has been published in to a Pulitzer winning book" thing. CHRISTMAS is coming!!! i hope this means that everyone is extra inspired to submit here.... for all you GA girls, think about how much LESS scary this is the Daedalus... and for those of you free people (ie. | 1/2/2003- Hello everyone. Break is (sadly) coming to a close, and only one person sent me anything.... I'm disappointed. Oh well. I saw Lord of the Rings twice this break, and I think my favorite scene is the first (or second) time you see gollum fighting with himself, and he tells the bad part of him to go away... that is other than the battle of Helms Deep.... and the part where Legolas swings himself over the horse (don't roll your eyes til youve seen it).... I don't know though, the second book was my favorite one,and i refuse to hear any one criticize Tolkein until they have read the books.... amazing though... i could start a movie section here too. Quite frankly anything to get this site "out there". Once again, i DON'T care if i dont know you, pen names are accepted (it can even be something like a screen name, no one is judging you on your ability to come up with a pseudonym), the only rule on pen names is that i have to have your real name some where deep in my computer, but i won't post it. For more general information scroll down, or i think i may just make a "guidelines" subject or something. so anyways, happy holidays, and to those of you sent me things... i will post them... promise! oh and i really need prose... any length... works in progress... anything. |

| 1.3.2003- TWICE IN TWO DAYS... wow you can tell I'm trying to avoid studying... any ways.... I NEED PROSE so if you have anything that you even remotely would consider.... also i have a guest book (the closest thing to a message board I could get on GeoCities... after all this is free) where opinions suggestions etc. can be posted. so send me something (PLEASE), either by posting an opinion OR by sending me prose, because there are currently only two people, and one of them is me, and while the other pieces are REALLY good... the more the merrier! email me [email protected], and i hope you had a wonderful holiday! Good luck on exams those who have them... and those who dont... you have no excuse not to send me somthing... even if you have already sent me something... it can be 5 sentances, i just want some more prose (and poetry)! |

| Feb 13, 2003- okay so im trying to get updates in as quickly as possible, but ive gotten more up. if you dont know its [email protected] . I really want to fill it up, so let me repeat that i dont need to know you to post your stuff, i just got a new piece from someone ive never met, and its GREAT to have different people on here. Theres still a ton poetry to be posted and other prose piece. Luckily school is almost done (only two classes til vacation!) and so ill be able to hopefully be able to put it up this weekend. so now my rant: IM GETTING MORE PROSE BUT I NEED MORE STILL.... and dont mind my bad mood. Valentines day is coming up.... enough said. Not long after that comes my birthday. double whammy let me tell you. But im reading good books so ill drown myself in Tolkien and Twain and this book Twelve which ive already read, but is amazing. I'll have to lend it to someone. This next week shouldnt be too bad, but basically ill be enjoying the last week and a half before crew. Anyways, keep checking for updates and let me know if theres anything that needs improvement, or what you think of anything either on email or the guest book. -Isabelle |

| March 2nd, 2003- Thanks to a particularly disgusting weekend i was able to start catching up on LS, which is GREAT, because I've been so entirely lazy. I need more pieces, poetry and prose though, because there has definitely been a decline in the amount of pieces I've gotten. I'm trying not to post anything of my own until I get more of other peoples. PLEASE SEND ME SOMETHING, or get a friend to or something. It doesnt have to be good, just something for people to enjoy reading. Now for my rant: i hate school. i really do. i hate everything about school okay so thats an exaggeration, i like somethings like the....uhhhh.... hold on still thinking. i think im getting townclaustraphobic, because right now i want more than anything to get out. i'm not sure if this is teenage angst or just me being weird, but sometimes i feel like i would like nothing more than to go somewhere no one knows me..... in the words of my friend nat, "do you ever just get that feeling when you see a plane flying overhead that you dont know where its going but you want to be on it?" I'll shut up now because im starting to whine.... but am i the only one looking forward to summer? i think i may go to a writing camp either at Iowa or Sewanee.... depends on where i get in/ where i'm old enough to qualify. anyways, im out- isabelle |
| July 30th, 2003- I'm back! very few updates, and most of them will be mine until i get more material. i just got home from the most amazing experience of my life - i went to the Iowa Young Writers Studio for two weeks. This sounds so corny, but i have never met such a dynamic and astounding group of people. the writers there had talent beyond any group i've ever seen in my life, and the best part was, no one was ashamed of it - everyone there knew they were good, but was willing (for the most part) to take criticism, and enjoy what other people had to say, and there were two open mic (spl?) nights, where people read their stuff. I was hoping that thats what this website could become like- unfortunately i've had a total lack of material sent to me, so that idea is kinda fading. If you do have anything [email protected] - theres no length limit or anything, and if people are scared of copying, just let me know, and i'll fix it so it can't be highlighted to help reduce that problem. Also- book reviews : favorite books and why? just a couple sentences, with book title, author, and your age/ age appropriate range. | September 30- okay here we go, my first update. no there is no new material. i need more before i post, though i have gotten a couple of poems. Sometime when im not sitting in English, i'll be sure to update. Reading sonnet 116, my favorite. anyways, just wanted people to know this site IS alive, however, i need more!
