The first house to rise was Clan Aries. After the Insectoid Invasion, Aries used theI'm oldest, do as I say" argument to gain control over all Clans. This dominance ended during the Clan "rebellious" years. Aries clanners against "the establishment" formed their own, called Taurus Clan.
The rest of Aries history is muscle-flexing. Now they search the various Clan worlds, looking for materials to use and reasons to fight. They often fight for little reasons, just to see their Clan publicized and thus feel important.
The Aries military of now is a hodge-podge force. Uniformity has given way to necessity. Manufacturing vehicles has given way to commandeering. And often panic has given way to massive suicide charges.
