A look at some of the hardware of the American forces on the Moon
As tensions began to  mount between the U.S. and the Soviet Union, a need for a bomber was perceived, and a Beta-Series was converted. With a rear-cannon to help protect from fighters, the B-Bomber was capable of carrying two Mk-III missiles. However, it was too big and expensive to maintain.
From the early days of the Beta One base, the Americans maintained a series of open-cockpit fighters. Here, the original Glory Squad kept a colorful presence at Moonbase Freedom.
The quick launch system made them one of the best ready-one crafts to see careers on the Moon. However, all of these models were out of service by the time hostilites broke out.
Just before hosilities broke out, the American base did receive it's first replacement craft. The Gamma-II was, essentially a redesigned Beta. With highly effecient engines, a computer mounted rear-gun and extra armor, the G-II was a lean, mean, fighting machine. The prototype arrived just days before combat began.
