Title: Betrayal is Never Forgiven By: Linya Rated: G Feedback: tgsgv@balandra.uabcs.mx Okay, I was in a hurry so please humor me if this chapter sucks. Thanks Caty for reviewing my first chapter since no one else did because I didn’t even know if my story was posted, but I guess it was. Chapter Two Legolas readied his bow within a second and was already launching arrows into the approaching hoard of merciless orcs. Soon the faces of the orcs were close enough so that Legolas whipped out his knives and began rhythmically slicing and dicing. Analae struggled with her bonds as an orc approached her smiling hideously. The orc jumped at Analae and she screamed fearing the worst, but then noticed that there was an elven arrow in the orcs back. Legolas had saved her. She watched the fellowship fight as she struggled again to free herself. The hobbits all seemed to fight in a group while Gimli and Aragorn on their own. Boromir...well, who cares about him. Legolas was slicing through the orcs as he made his way toward Analae. Their eyes met they stared at each other until they were ripped back into reality. “You have to free me!” pleaded Analae. Legolas didn’t even hesitate, but was already at work on her bonds. When he was finished untying her hands he started on her ankles. He was so busy working on the ropes that he didn’t even notice the approaching orc behind him. Analae quickly unsheaved the remaining knife from Legolas and stabbed the orc like a pro. And then she was free. Making her way out of the clearing she stabbed a few more orcs, whom were barely gone by this time and seemed satisfied that she was unnoticed. Unnoticed that is, except for Legolas who seemed enchanted by her. He was tempted to follow as she might need protection, but feared that she might be done worse by the fellowship. What if she was right about Boromir? All the orcs were now slain and the fellowship stood together. “Where is the girl?” asked Merry. “I had to let her go, it was far too dangerous for her here.” replied Legolas. “You fool!” yelled Boromir in an outrage, “By letting her go you have doomed us all. This girl is no mere thief, she is a vixen and will return to kill us all.” Aragorn stepped between the elf and the fellow human. “What Legolas did was right. I do not believe that the girl will return.” Boromir ignored Aragorn and walked up face to face with Legolas. “She had better not return or else it will be on your head ELF!” Boromir stalked toward the tree where the girl had been bound and left Legolas calm on the outside and steaming on the inside. Legolas whipped out one of his knives and let it rip at the side of the tree. Boromir spun around and glared at Legolas who had purposely missed. Boromir knew that too. Legolas calmly glared back at Boromir ignoring the gaping fellowship. Boromir broke the gaze and walked over to sharpen his sword. Analae’s mind wandered over her day’s trouble. Surely there was now a great risk for herself because Boromir knew that she was near and trying to get the medallion. Analae didn’t regret her doings this day though. It had brought her to face something she never knew that she’d have to face. Love. Love in an elf so valiant and so seemingly kind. Analae’s heart felt confused because she knew that the elf surely wouldn’t feel the same way. Besides she thought, love can get in the way of business. Analae walked through the woods deciding what to do next. What else was there to do? She was going to get that medallion! The leaves glittered in the treetops above Legolas and Aragorn who were chatting slightly away from the rest of the fellowship. “Legolas, I must talk to you about something.” The elf nodded. “Your behavior this morning was risky. You heard what Galadriel said about the breaking of the fellowship.” Leoglas nodded but leaning closer. “I can feel tension in the wind whenever I am around Boromir. I fear that the breaking may be inevitable if there is a traitor in our midst.” The silver and green leaves fluttered around them and Aragorn nodded. Boromir waded into a nearby pool of water after removing his clothes and jewelry. Analae was counting on this as she watched him disappear into the water. The wind blew her hair as she walked toward the belongings. Her heart sank when there was no medallion. Suddenly she felt cold steel against her throat. An icy gruff voice said, “ You’re becoming quite predictable my darling.” Legolas and Boromir were still sitting when Gimli and the hobbits came running up to them. “Boromir's gone!” Legolas didn’t need anything other than that. The fellowship was on their way to find Boromir.
