Title: The Way of the Ring Author: Romenloth Rating: R Summary: Legolas meets his dream Elf weeks before leaving for the Council of Elrond in Rivendell. Sorry, I'm not good at summaries, but please read! Chapter Five Legolas, Kalheru, and Nardil sat in their father's study. Thranduil paced in front of them. Kalheru and Nardil shared knowing glances and smiled. "As you know, there is to be a meeting at Rivendell about the One Ring," the King started. "And, as you know, we need a representative at this council. This is where I pick one of you." Thranduil looked at all three sons carefully. "I hope I have made a wise decision by choosing you, Legolas, as representative of Mirkwood." Legolas smiled and nodded. "You have, Father, you have. I promise I won't let you down." The King smiled at his youngest son. He was all grown up. And would soon need a wife, he mused. That Elenwen was quite a catch, and Legolas did seem to have eyes for her… Thranduil almost grinned at the thought. "I know you won't." Legolas asked for Thranduil's leave and left the study. He walked to his chambers and bounced on the bed like he had done when he was a child. He couldn't stop grinning. He, Legolas Greenleaf, was finally going to have an adventure! Elenwen dressed in her second best gown for the dance tonight. It was lilac purple, beautifully made to bring out her darker skin tone, eyes and hair. The dress was low cut like many others, and clung to her curves. A thin silver belt of Elvish fashion sat on her slim, yet curvy, hips. The sleeves were made of a lighter fabric, making them see-through, and they belled out and her wrists. Elenwen spun around in front of the Elvish mirror. Hopefully she would catch some Elf's attention, preferably more of the one she already caught. The one she thought she was falling in love with. She sighed and sat down, thinking again of Legolas. He was so handsome, so kind, and, well, a very good kisser, too. Elenwen placed her fingers to her lips. She remembered the feel of his on hers. Legolas's lips were so soft and gentle, yet hard and demanding. His body wanted more from her, though Legolas didn't try anything he knew Elenwen would feel uncomfortable doing. He was so sweet like that. There was a knock on her door. "Who is it?" she asked, fixing the stray strands of her hair. She wore some of it up, the rest down. Legolas entered the room and suddenly stopped, his jaw slightly open. Elenwen blushed, smoothing her dress. She tried not to pay attention to how his silver dress tunic and white breeches fit him so perfectly. "Is this alright? It isn't too…" "What? Oh, no, your dress is fine," Legolas breathed. He tried not to concentrate on how low the dress was cut, how it clung to her very feminine curves, because otherwise, she would notice how his body responded to hers. "Lle naa vanima ." Elenwen blushed. "Thank you, Legolas." He walked over to her, wrapping his arms around her waist and pulling her close. Her curvy body again pressed against his as he kissed her. Legolas couldn't help the hardness that pressed against Elenwen's leg. Instead, he swallowed her gasp and swept his tongue through her mouth. He loved kissing her like this. He moaned against Elenwen's mouth before breaking the kiss. She stared at him, glassy eyed. "Wow," she said. "I didn't know you felt that way about me." Legolas laughed. "Sorry. Being with you does that to me sometimes." He blushed, and Elenwen laughed softly. "Do you know what I was thinking about before you came in?" she asked. "What?" "Just how sweet you are and how I like it when you…" Legolas brushed his lips against hers. "And how I like it when- when you do that…" "Mmmhmm, what else?" he murmured. "I forget," she gasped as he nibbled her left ear. "Thought so…" Legolas kissed her neck and scraped his teeth over her jaw line. Elenwen arched her neck instinctively, bringing a groan from Legolas. "We better stop, unless you want to find yourself in a compromising position… In your bed." Elenwen was breathing heavily. "Oh… I see." She was pressed hard against Legolas's warm hard body, and it was making it hard to think. He was so strong. Her mind flashed back to when they first met, and his mother had made him take his shirt off. Oh yes, he was very strong. "We should… We should probably leave for the celebration now Legolas," she said. "Hmm, but I like holding you." "Well, if you ask me to dance you can hold me again. I don't want to keep your parents waiting, Legolas. We really should go." Legolas nodded. "Just give me a second." "Why? Oh…" Elenwen blushed at Legolas's body reaction around her. Legolas smiled, a gleam coming to his eyes. "You have no idea what being near you does to the male species, do you?" "I'm- I'm nothing special, I'm just…" Elenwen trailed off hopelessly. "You are just the most beautiful girl that I have ever laid my eyes on, and you happen to like me kissing you, and I happen to like kissing you…" Legolas shrugged. "So everything works out." Elenwen closed her eyes and rested her head on Legolas's shoulder. "Legolas?" "Hmm?" "What is the status of our relationship?" "To tell you the truth, I do not know. But I think I'm falling in love with you, Elenwen," said Legolas. She looked up into Legolas's blue-brown eyes. "Really? Because- Because, I feel the same way. I- I've never felt like this before… About anyone. I- I'm not sure what I am feeling and…" And Legolas cut her off with an amazing, mind numbing kiss. "Wow," Elenwen breathed. "Yeah, wow," repeated Legolas. ------------------------------------------------------------- Legolas couldn't keep his eyes off her all through the feast. He watched as other Elves danced with her around the large, open room decorated for his leaving. Personally, he didn't see what the fuss was, as he was leaving in a week. And secondly, he wanted to pound the faces in of all the Elves that came up to Elenwen, asking her to dance. Why did she have to wear a dress like that? Why? It seemed like all the Males of Mirkwood were swarming her. Legolas finally gave into what he had wanted to do all night and walked over to her. Elenwen was laughing at what an Elf had said, and was drinking punch that another had gotten for her. Legolas couldn't help but feel jealous. Of course, he definitely noticed that her eyes seemed to light up when she saw him… "Elenwen," Legolas said. "May I have this dance?" "Of course, Your Highness," she said. She smiled as her took her small hand in his slightly rough one. Legolas led her to the dance floor, an arm around her waist. He felt possessive of her, especially since all those Elves flocked to her like moths to a flame. When they danced, he held her closer than necessary, glaring at every Elf who looked at Elenwen. "I wondered when you where going to ask me to dance," Elenwen murmured. "Well, I decided to allow you to meet some more Elves. Now I'm not sure that was such a good idea." Elenwen laughed a low, sultry laugh. The husky sound went straight through Legolas's blood. He pulled Elenwen closer to him. "I don't like how you're being swarmed by all these Elves. I feel completely possessive, and I don't like feeling this way." "Why not?" Elenwen asked. She smiled softly, pleased at the extent of Legolas's feelings for her. "Because I want to smash the faces in of all of them. And some of them are my friends, and I don't think they'd be really happy." Laughing, Elenwen placed a soft kiss on Legolas's cheek, ignoring the glares of the other Elf maidens searching for his attention. "Mmm, should you have done that? I doubt those Elves will be happy." "I honestly do not care." "Good," Legolas said, and swung her out the double doors and onto the balcony. Elenwen's eyes were wide in the semi- darkness as she stared at Legolas with a slight smile on her face. "You do know that we shouldn't be out here." "And why not?" "Because…" Elenwen broke off as Legolas brushed his lips against hers. "Because…" Legolas deepened the kiss by tracing her full lips with his tongue. Elenwen's lips parted in response, and he slipped his tongue through. Legolas made love to her mouth with his tongue as he gently pushed Elenwen against the railing of the balcony. Elenwen smiled against Legolas's mouth when she realized she was trapped between Legolas's body and the railing. Legolas lightly trailed his fingers up her back, and she instinctively arched toward him. He moaned against her mouth as he felt her soft breasts press against his chest. He couldn't stop his body's response. The kiss ended with both Elves breathing heavily. And then they were running down the balcony, giggling like little children, stealing kisses as they escaped the party. They snuck back into the castle, the sounds of the party, muffled. Elenwen pressed Legolas against a door… A door which happened to be the door to her room. Legolas fiddled with the door handle, which would not open. Elenwen laughed against his bruising lips when he finally had the door opened. They fell inside, and the door closed by Legolas pressing Elenwen up against it, ravishing her mouth. She moaned and pulled at his silver tunic. Legolas was only too happy to have it off. Elenwen gasped at the sight of his chest and left a trail of light kisses down the middle. Legolas groaned and pulled her to him, concentrating his kisses in her lightly tanned neck. They moved to the bed, falling upon it, Elenwen beneath Legolas. He kissed her as he pulled the dress lower, exposing almost all of her breasts. He slid a hand beneath her dress and traveled up her thigh to where she was already hot. He stroked her and kissed her mouth listening to her moans. Legolas gently poked a finger into her, feeling how small and tight she was. Her hips arched to him as he remembered she was- Legolas quickly rolled off Elenwen. He was breathing heavily, and so was she. Oh, gods, he thought. She's a virgin. "Elenwen, Elenwen," he whispered. "Elenwen, are you alright?" She looked up at him, tears in her eyes. "Why did you stop?" "I- Well, um…" Legolas couldn't explain why he felt the need to stop before this went any farther. He wanted it to but… "Did I do something wrong?" That went straight to his heart. She was looking up at him, wide- eyed, her dress wrinkled and pulled off her shoulders. She looked so innocent. Legolas pulled her to him. "No, no meleth, you didn't do anything wrong." "Then why did you stop?" Elenwen asked softly. Legolas sighed and tried to sort his thoughts. "Can you tell me you're completely ready for this? I'm not sure to what extent my feelings are towards you, and I doubt you know yours. I don't want to start anything that you might regret… That I might regret. And you're not supposed to regret making love." Elenwen was silent, looking out her window. Legolas could tell she was blushing. "Elenwen, why are you still a virgin?" he asked. She looked into his bright blue eyes with her deep brown ones. "Because I'm waiting for the Elf I love to take it away." Legolas brushed a strand of hair behind her pointed ear. "And what if I'm not the one you end up falling in love with?" Elenwen looked up at Legolas, tears glistening in her eyes, her lower lip trembling. Legolas kissed her softly before saying, "Sleep well, meleth." He slid off her bed, picked up his tunic, and left the room, softy closing the door behind him. Elenwen finally let the tears fall. "If you only knew who I love, Legolas," she cried. "If you only knew."
