Title: The Way of the Ring Author: Romenloth Rating: R Summary: Legolas meets his dream Elf weeks before leaving for the Council of Elrond in Rivendell. Sorry, I'm not good at summaries, but please read! Chapter Four Legolas watched her enter the dining hall the next morning. She was just as beautiful as ever. This morning she wore a pale blue dress and her hair was pulled up, exposing her pale neck. "Oio naa elealla alasse' ," said Legolas when Elenwen sat next to him. Elenwen blushed at the complement. "Thank you, Legolas." She reached for a piece of lembas flavored with spices and herbs. Legolas took a breath and asked, "I… would you, um, want to go for a ride with me this afternoon?" Elenwen smiled. "Of course, Your Highness," she said. She paused, and her smiled became mischievous. "But what would riding with you include, rwalaer ?" Legolas's eyes narrowed. "I think I'll take that as a complement." Elenwen laughed. "Do as you wish, Your Highness." She leaned over and brushed a light kiss over Legolas's mouth. "I will meet you in the stables later." Legolas swallowed and nodded as he watched her leave. "If you tell us that you were just watching the stars again, I swear I will beat you," said Kalheru. Elenwen rode in silence as she followed Legolas on the trail. She was so embarrassed about the morning! She had just been acting on impulse. She shouldn't have kissed him. "What is wrong, dinear ?" the Prince asked. "Nothing, Your Highness," she murmured. Legolas turned around to find her blushing. "Something is wrong." Legolas grinned. "Perhaps I know what is the matter…" He stopped his pony beside Elenwen and reached over to pull her onto the gentle creature. Elenwen gasped and wrapped her arms around Legolas's neck. He grinned and nuzzled her neck. A small moan emitted from her lips. Legolas kissed her neck, and moved up her face to her lips. Elenwen willingly parted her lips and allowed Legolas's tongue into her mouth. She played her tongue with his and sighed against his lips. "I'd say you're definitely willing to not stop me," Legolas said, breaking the kiss. Elenwen laughed a low, husky laugh. " Amin naa lle nai," she said. "I am yours to command." Legolas also laughed at her flirting. "Don't I wish!" he sighed. "But, no, I cannot." Elenwen squeaked, and felt herself sliding off the pony. "Legolas, I- I'm falling. Can you… Aah!" Both Elves collapsed in a heap on the forest floor with both their ponies staring down at them in disgust. Legolas took one look at Elenwen and burst out laughing. Trying to hide her smile, she said, "It isn't funny! I could have gotten hurt, or ruined another dress!" Legolas brushed a whisper of a kiss over her pretty mouth. "Don't worry so. You didn't do anything of what you just named, so consider yourself lucky." Elenwen sighed. Then she laughed and pushed Legolas on his back. She straddled him and held his wrists down on the ground. "I've got you now, Your Highness." "Hmm… So you do," murmured Legolas. "And what do you plan to do now that you have caught me?" "I'm not sure." She smiled shyly. "I do like it when you kiss me." Legolas looked up at her, puzzled. "I don't understand you, Elenwen," he said. "One minute you are implying certain things, and the next you are a shy little maiden." Elenwen blushed. "I do not mean to be confusing, my lord." "Legolas. You can call me Legolas." "Alright, Legolas." She smiled. "Do you want to finish that ride now?" Legolas nodded. They'd better before he did something he'd regret. The rest of the ride went smoothly. Elenwen and Legolas reached the palace within two hours of riding and getting to know each other. Elenwen smiled when she saw the tall trees near Legolas's window. He had told her when he was younger he would sneak out and meet girls in the woods via the branches under the window. Now he still snuck out, but not to meet girls. Usually. Legolas grinned at Elenwen. "Race you to the stables!" he called, before he spurred his pony into action. "Hey!" Elenwen laughed. She followed, close to Legolas's mount's heels. The race ended with both young Elves laughing and out of breath. Legolas won. "I win," he said. "No reason to gloat, Your Highness." "It's Legolas. Just Legolas," he sighed. "Alright then, Legolas," Elenwen smiled. "Are you happy now?" "Very," the Elf Prince murmured as he pulled Elenwen's pony closer so he could reach her mouth. Hmm, she thought as she drowned in Legolas's kiss. His tongue probed through her mouth in a gentle rhythm. Maybe this isn't that bad at all… "What are you two doing?" Legolas quickly pulled away at the voice. "Tsk, tsk, Legolas," said Kalheru. "You should get a room." Nardil laughed. "It is quite interesting to see your little brother kissing such a pretty maiden." "Hmm, tongue or not?" Kalheru wanted to know. Both Legolas and Elenwen blushed. "Go away," Legolas said weakly. Both twins laughed. "Yeah, right! Not when we caught you two in the act!" they both cried. Elenwen looked away, blushing even more. "Oh, now you've made her blush, Kalheru," Nardil said. "Me? It was you!" argued his twin. "No, definitely you." "Why you…" Kalheru lunged for Nardil and they fell to the ground in a heap of flying fists. "Ride into the stable," Legolas said, nodding towards the escape route. Elenwen giggled quietly and pressed her legs to her pony's sides. The pony obediently trotted silently into the stable. Elenwen dismounted and looked up at Legolas as he did the same. "Are they always like that?" she asked. Legolas smiled. "Always." The two Elves unbridled the ponies and put them in their stalls. Curious, Elenwen explored the royal stable. Magnificent horses gazed out at her, some munching on hay. The rafters were high, giving the stable an open feeling. Fading sunlight shone through the windows. Elvish designs were carved in the wood. "Your stables are beautiful, You Highness," Elenwen breathed. She felt Legolas come behind her and pull her by the waist to him. "Not as beautiful as you," he murmured huskily. Elenwen didn't know that Legolas had seen her in a pool of the sunlight. She didn't know how beautiful she had looked as she gazed around the stable in innocent wide-eyed wonder. She didn't know that Legolas was having a battle with his wills because of just that. She was innocent. Untouched. Virgin. Elenwen smiled. "That was so nice, Legolas. Thank you." "No one has ever called you beautiful before?" She shook her head. "No." Legolas frowned. "I don't understand why not." Elenwen shrugged. "I've never really been interested in the males at my town…" "Hmm… Heartbreaker, are you?" Elenwen shook her head vehemently. "No, no I'm not! I've never broken a heart…" She stopped when she saw Legolas was smiling. "Well, I haven't!" she said huffily. "I know you haven't," he laughed. "I just like to tease you. It's so much fun." "Hey, that's not very nice…" Elenwen trailed off as Legolas brushed his lips over her lightly tanned neck. "Mmm… but that is…" Legolas moved his lips up to her pointed ear and nibbled on the tip. Elenwen emitted a quiet moan and completely leaned back on Legolas's strong chest. Legolas's tongue lapped at Elenwen's ear a little more before he brushed her long dark hair back and kissed the back of her neck. He groaned as she gripped his muscled thigh. "Ahh… Young love." Legolas and Elenwen quickly sprang apart again at the sound of Nardil's voice. Kalheru laughed. "Thought you could get away, didn't you?" Nardil shook his head. "What have we said about getting a room?" Legolas stared in disbelief, his mouth parted. "What did I ever do to deserve this?" he cried. Both twins laughed. "You deserved Father wanting to speak with us in, oh, two minutes," explained Kalheru. "Why didn't you tell me?" Legolas exploded. "He just did," Nardil said dryly. Legolas sighed. "What does Father wish to speak to me about?" Kalheru and Nardil smiled. "About leaving for Rivendell next week." "Me? Or do you think he is going to pick one of you?" Legolas asked. "Ha!" Nardil said. "He better not pick me. I like Mirkwood just fine." "Same here," Kalheru agreed. Legolas stared. "You both planned this, didn't you? You knew how much I wanted to go." "Hey, it was the least we could do," smirked Kalheru. Legolas smiled so brightly at Elenwen, she thought he could challenge the sun.
